INJURIES

Limits Blue Jays on Tuesday Rasmussen did not factor into the decision Tuesday against the Blue Jays, allowing three runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out five over six innings.
Impact Rasmussen ran into trouble early, surrendering a solo homer to Kazuma Okamoto in the first inning before allowing another run in the second via a trio of singles. The right-hander settled in from there and continued his workhorse-esque trend, now going at least five innings in six of his seven starts this season. One concern has been the long ball, as Rasmussen has already allowed six homers across those seven outings. Even so, he still owns a strong 2.95 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 37:6 K:BB on the year. The 30-year-old is scheduled to face Boston next, a lineup that has struggled to consistently score runs lately.

Fans six in first loss of season Rasmussen (2-1) took the loss Wednesday as the Rays were downed 3-1 by the Guardians, giving up three runs (two earned) on six hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out six.
Impact The right-hander was lifted after 91 pitches (65 strikes) in a close game, but Tampa Bay's offense couldn't mount a comeback and get him off the hook for his first loss of 2026. Rasmussen did manage to keep the ball in the yard after serving up five homers in his first 25.2 innings this season, but that's been the only real issue for him. He'll take a 2.64 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 32:5 K:BB through 30.2 frames into his next start, which lines up to come at home early next week against the Blue Jays.

Allows just one run in win Rasmussen (2-0) earned the victory Friday against the Twins, allowing one run on five hits and one walk while striking out six in six innings of work.
Impact Rasmussen rebounded from his worst outing of the young season by shutting down the Twins offense to the tune of one run in six innings. The lone blemish was a home run surrendered to Brooks Lee, but the 30-year-old was sharp outside of that to make it four out of five starts on the year allowing one earned run or fewer. The right-hander is now 2-0 on the season with a 2.45 ERA, 0.74 WHIP and 26 strikeouts in 25.2 innings pitched. His next scheduled appearance is set for Wednesday against the Guardians.

Yields four runs in shortened start Rasmussen didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the Pirates, allowing four runs on two hits and two walks with three strikeouts across 3.2 innings.
Impact Rasmussen gave up a two-run homer to Ryan O'Hearn in the bottom of the first inning and later surrendered another two-run shot to Marcell Ozuna in the fourth. The game was then delayed by rain for two hours and 27 minutes, ending Rasmussen's day after 64 pitches. It was Rasmussen's first troublesome outing of the season after he'd yielded just two runs in 16 innings across his first three starts. Rasmussen now owns a 2.75 ERA and 20:3 K:BB across 19.2 innings. He should be well rested ahead of his next start Friday at home against the Twins.

Fans seven in win Rasmussen (1-0) earned the win Sunday against the Yankees, allowing
Impact Rasmussen was activated from the injured list just in time to start Sunday's contest, his first since becoming a dad to his second child. The 30-year-old showed no signs of rust all, twirling a gem in his return to the mound. The right-hander surrendered just one hit, walked nobody and struck out seven. Activated ahead of start The Rays reinstated Rasmussen (personal) from the family medical emergency list ahead of his scheduled start Sunday against the Yankees at Tropicana Field.
Impact Rasmussen will be returning to the hill for his third start of the season and his first appearance since April 1. He had been previously been scheduled to start this past Tuesday against the Cubs, but he was scratched due to the imminent birth of his child. The Rays then placed Rasmussen on the paternity list before transferring him to the FME list Saturday, but he'll now be ready to pitch as Tampa Bay goes for a sweep of the Yankees. Tampa Bay optioned lefty Joe Rock to Triple-A Durham to reopen a spot on the 26-man active roster for Rasmussen.

Moved to FME list The Rays transferred Rasmussen (personal) from the paternity list to the family medical emergency list Saturday.
Impact The move gives Rasmussen the option of spending an extra day away from the team, though he's still slated to start in Sunday's series finale against the Yankees, per Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. Jesse Scholtens was recalled from Triple-A Durham to replenish the Rays' rotation after Joe Boyle (elbow) was placed on the 15-day IL, but the former could start Sunday if Rasmussen is not available.

Lined up to start Sunday Rasmussen (paternity) is tentatively slated to rejoin the Rays' rotation Sunday versus the Yankees, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports.
Impact Rasmussen remains on the paternity leave list, but the hope is that he will be ready to go for Sunday's series finale. If that happens, Shane McClanahan would be pushed back to Tuesday against the White Sox following the team's off day Monday. Rasmussen has permitted two runs with a 10:1 K:BB over his first 10 innings this season.
