Félix Bautista - Fans pair in spring debut Bautista (shoulder/knee) struck out two over a perfect inning Tuesday versus the Pirates in his Grapefruit League debut.
Impact Bautista touched 99 mph on the radar gun, per Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun. He'll make another appearance Friday and an additional 2-3 after that in preparation of Opening Day. The Orioles slow-played Bautista this spring after last year's shoulder and knee issues, but those injuries no longer appear to be of concern.

Tarik Skubal - Placed on 60-day IL Skubal was placed on the 60-day injured list by the Tigers on Tuesday as he continues his recovery from left flexor tendon surgery.
Impact The move frees up a 40-man roster spot for waiver claim Freddy Pacheco. Skubal has been throwing on flat ground for a while but is expected to miss at least the first couple months of the season.

Freddy Pacheco - Claimed off waivers by Detroit Pacheco (elbow) was claimed off waivers by the Tigers on Tuesday and optioned to Triple-A Toledo.
Impact Pacheco had been placed on outright waivers by the Cardinals earlier this month as he recovered from a bit of elbow tightness. The 24-year-old right-hander posted an encouraging 3.05 ERA with 84 strikeouts in 62 innings last season between Double-A Springfield and Triple-A Memphis. Assuming good health, he could make his MLB debut out of Detroit's bullpen at some point in 2023.

Detroit Tigers option three prospects, including Parker Meadows, to Triple-A Toledo The Detroit Tigers cut five players Tuesday morning from Opening Day roster contention, leaving 49 players in MLB spring training.

Kyle Gibson - Doing well so far Gibson has allowed two earned runs on eight hits and no walks while striking out six over nine Grapefruit League innings.
Impact Gibson has made three appearances in spring training, and he's performing just fine. The veteran right-hander signed a one-year deal with the Orioles in December, and he should be a lock for the rotation, especially given his encouraging outings so far. He struggled to a 5.05 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 144:48 K:BB across 167.2 innings with the Phillies last season, and at 35 years old, it's tough to imagine a significant improvement in his numbers this year.

Lewin Díaz - Scratched from Tuesday's lineup Diaz was scratched from the Orioles' lineup Tuesday due to undisclosed reasons, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Impact The Orioles should provide more information on Diaz's status shortly. Coby Mayo will slide into the Baltimore lineup in Diaz's place.
