Placed on 10-day IL
The Orioles placed Kremer (oblique) on the 10-day injured list Monday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports. Manager Brandon Hyde said he expects Kremer to miss at least 3-to-4...
Impact
The 26-year-old was slated to make his season debut Tuesday against the Brewers, but after hurting his oblique Sunday while warming up, he'll be placed on the shelf. Though the Orioles likely aren't counting on Kremer to return in April, Hyde suggests that the right-hander isn't considered a candidate to move to the 60-day IL. The Orioles haven't announced who will start in Kremer's place Tuesday, but Mike Baumann, Spenser Watkins and Alexander Wells are the most likely candidates to step in.

Dealing with oblique issue
Kremer felt something in his oblique while warming up in the bullpen during Sunday's loss to the Rays, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Impact
Kremer was in the mix to operate as Baltimore's No. 5 starter to begin the season, but he was instead warming up to come out of the bullpen Sunday before the oblique issue cropped up. The specifics of the injury remain unclear, and the 26-year-old should be considered day-to-day until the team updates his status.

Included on initial roster
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said Wednesday that Kremer will be included on the team's initial 28-man Opening Day roster, Zachary Silver of MLB.com reports.
Impact
Baltimore will open the season with John Means, Jordan Lyles, Tyler Wells and Bruce Zimmermann as its four starters, but Hyde has yet to decide on a No. 5 starter. Though the likes of Kremer, Keegan Akin and Mike Baumann are all candidates to fill that role, Hyde left the door open that the Orioles look outside of the organization to bolster their pitching staff in advance of Opening Day. If that's the case, at least one of Kremer, Akin and Baumann would likely be at risk of losing his spot on the active roster and instead head to Triple-A Norfolk to pick up regular starts. Even if Kremer emerges as the No. 5 starter, his fantasy upside isn't particularly high; through 17 career big-league starts, he owns a 6.84 ERA and 1.59 WHIP.

Struggling in spring
Kremer has allowed nine runs (eight earned) on 15 hits and three walks with 11 strikeouts in nine innings across three Grapefruit League appearances.
Impact
The Orioles' rotation remains in flux with Opening Day looming, but Kremer is likely to be on the big-league roster to start the season. It's unclear if he'll ultimately work as a traditional starter or in a tandem, though it'll likely be the latter. The right-hander struggled to a 7.55 ERA, 1.64 WHIP, 47:25 K:BB and 0-7 record across 13 starts with the Orioles last season. General manager Mike Elias called out some of the young arms in the organization to step up this season, so Kremer will need to make significant progress to stay in the team's plans long-term, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Heads back to minors
Kremer was returned to Triple-A Norfolk following Saturday's doubleheader against the Blue Jays, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Impact
Kremer was called up as the 29th man to serve as the starter in Saturday's matinee against Toronto, and he allowed five runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out two in four innings. The 25-year-old has a 5.40 ERA in 53.1 innings in Norfolk.

Up to start Game 1 against Toronto
Kremer was recalled to start Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Blue Jays, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Impact
He is up as the 29th man, so this may just be a spot start. Kremer hasn't pitched in the majors since June 24 in Toronto, where he allowed six runs and walked five batters in one-third of an inning. Since then, he has logged a 5.64 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 46 strikeouts in 44.2 innings at Triple-A.

Sent back to Triple-A
Kremer was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Friday.
Impact
The 25-year-old surrendered six runs while recording only one out in Thursday's start versus Toronto, prompting his return to the minors. Kremer has made 12 started for the Orioles this season and has struggled with a 7.25 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 45:24 K:BB across 49.2 innings. He may need to show significant improvements at Triple-A in order to receive another look in the big-league rotation.

Implodes in seventh loss
Kremer (0-7) was charged with the loss Thursday against the Blue Jays after surrendering six runs while recording one out. He gave up two hits and five walks without registering a...
Impact
After walking the bases loaded to start things off, Kremer allowed his fourth batter to reach with an RBI single. He did manage to get Randal Grichuk to ground out, causing another run, but it only got worse from there. Cavan Biggio walked, and Lourdes Gurriel capitalized with a grand slam. Kremer issued yet another free pass, this time to Joe Panik, before he was lifted from the atrocious outing. The right-hander, still winless on the season, had performed well during his last two starts to hold onto his spot in the rotation with John Means (shoulder) and Bruce Zimmermann (biceps) on the injured list. If he gets another chance, it will tentatively come on the road against the Astros on Tuesday.
