Homers in first intrasquad game Peralta hit a home run Monday during the Diamondbacks intrasquad game, Zach Buchanan of The Athletic reports.

Impact The 32-year-old outfielder arrived at summer camp workouts along with Kevin Ginkel on Monday. Peralta was cleared to return to action after testing negative for COVID-19, according to Steve Gilbert of MLB.com. He had to receive four negative tests because of what his symptoms were like and admits to feeling 100 percent now.

Impact He was one of several players who did not attend Friday's first summer practice, but it appears to have been a minor issue, and perhaps not even health-related. Peralta is expected to serve as one of Arizona's lineup staples in 2020.

Impact Add Ginkel to the list of players that have yet to report to summer camp. He's expected to serve as one of the primary setup men for closer Archie Bradley. David Peralta and Kole Calhoun were among the missing Friday, but apparently GInkel's absence went undetected until Saturday. Regarding the missing players, Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said the same thing Saturday that he said Friday: Guys are completing their intake testing. "I think Major League Baseball has set forth a certain protocol that you've got to arrive, you've got to quarantine, you've got to test, you've got to pass the test. I think it's a small window for very rigorous protocols," said the manager. At this time, teams are not allowed to state whether players have contracted COVID-19 because it is considered a "non-employment-related" issue, though a player may authorize a team to do so.

Impact The lineup manager Torey Lovullo fielded Mar. 9 against the Royals looked like an Opening Day batting order. That lineup had the right-handed hitting Walker fifth behind lefty David Peralta and ahead of lefty Kole Calhoun. Lovullo may tweak the order so that he can alternate right-handed and left-handed batters, but Walker should be comfortable in the five hole. That's where he had his most plate appearances in 2019, when Walker took command of the first base job and swatted 29 home runs. The man he replaced at first base, Jake Lamb, had a good spring, but the job belongs to Walker right now and will be his whenever MLB opens its doors for the regular season.
