Impact Oakland claimed MacKinnon off waivers from the Angels in August and gave him a brief look. He went hitless in 14 plate appearances with a couple runs scored. MacKinnon put up big numbers with Triple-A Salt Lake last season (.324/.429/.631), but those numbers carry little weight given his age (27) and the hitter-friendly conditions of the Pacific Coast League.
