Out again versus lefty Dickerson is out of the lineup again Thursday versus the Padres.
Impact Washington is facing another lefty in Blake Snell, so Stone Garrett will get the start in left field and Joey Meneses will serve as the DH. Dickerson has a career .697 OPS versus southpaws.
MAY 25, 2023 β€’ ROTOWIRE
Resting versus lefty Dickerson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.
Impact As per usual, the lefty-hitting Dickerson finds himself on the bench with a southpaw (Ryan Weathers) taking the hill for the opposition. The righty-hitting Stone Garrett will pick up the start in left field while Dickerson sits following a 1-for-4 effort in Tuesday's 7-4 loss.
MAY 24, 2023 β€’ ROTOWIRE
Sitting versus lefty Dickerson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
Impact Dickerson is 4-for-15 with a double, a home run, three RBI and three runs in six games since being reinstated from the injured list, and he'll take a seat Sunday with southpaw Joey Wentz pitching for Detroit. Stone Garrett will man left field for Washington in the series finale.
MAY 21, 2023 β€’ ROTOWIRE
Out of lineup versus lefty Dickerson is out of the lineup Friday against the Tigers.
Impact Joey Meneses is back from paternity leave and serving as the Nationals' designated hitter with left-hander Matthew Boyd set to toe the slab for Detroit. Stone Garrett is in left field. Dickerson will probably continue to sit versus most southpaws moving forward.
MAY 19, 2023 β€’ ROTOWIRE
Launches first homer of year Dickerson went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a second run scored in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Marlins.
Impact In his first game since coming off the IL, Dickerson took the second pitch he saw from Edward Cabrera (finger) and ripped it over the right-field wall for his first homer of 2023, giving the Nats an early lead. The 33-year-old outfielder has missed most of the season to date with a calf strain, but now that he's healthy Dickerson will settle in as the regular left fielder against right-handed pitching, with Stone Garrett as his current platoon partner. Even discounting his days as a Rockie, Dickerson has a career .276/.318/.465 slash line against righties.

Corey Dickerson's welcome-back HR not enough for Nats in loss to Marlins The outfielder homers in first at-bat since going on the IL in early April. His absence had left a power void in the Nationals' lineup.
MAY 18, 2023 β€’ WASHINGTONPOST.COM
Sitting against lefty Dickerson is out of the lineup Tuesday versus the Marlins.
Impact Dickerson was just activated from a lengthy stint on the IL to heal a calf strain, but he'll ride the pine with left-hander Jesus Luzardo on the mound for Miami. Stone Garrett is in left field and hitting eighth.

Nationals reinstate OF Corey Dickerson (calf) from IL The Washington Nationals reinstated outfielder Corey Dickerson from the injured list Monday.
MAY 15, 2023 β€’ SACBEE.COM
Returns from injured list Dickerson was activated from the 10-day injured list by the Nationals on Monday, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.
Impact Dickerson has been out since straining his left calf shortly after Opening Day. He should see plenty of starts in left field against righties, at least while Alex Call is playing center field with Victor Robles (back) is out.
MAY 15, 2023 β€’ ROTOWIRE
Starting rehab assignment Dickerson (calf) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Rochester on Friday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
Impact Dickerson has been out since early April with a left calf strain but is ready to test things out in game action. He was seeing regular action in left field against righties before getting hurt but wouldn't seem to be guaranteed playing time once activated.
MAY 12, 2023 β€’ ROTOWIRE
Runs for first time in rehab Dickerson (calf) ran for the first time Tuesday during his rehab program and is working towards reaching certain thresholds, Jessica Camerato of MLB.com reports.
Impact Dickerson has been on the injured list with his left calf strain since the beginning of April. The outfielder will likely need a lengthy rehab stint after missing more than a month, but it sounds like a chance to get back on the field -- albeit in the minors -- is coming soon.
MAY 2, 2023 β€’ ROTOWIRE
Getting closer to running Nationals manager Dave Martinez said Tuesday that the pain in Dickerson's left calf is diminishing, Jessica Camerato of MLB.com reports.
Impact Dickerson still has yet to start running again, but the team hopes for that to change by next week. There's no target date in place for Dickerson to return to the Nationals' lineup, but it appears his time on the injured list will likely extend well into May.
APRIL 25, 2023 β€’ ROTOWIRE
Yet to be cleared for running Nationals manager Dave Martinez said Friday that Dickerson (calf) still hasn't been cleared for running, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.
Impact Dickerson has been hitting and throwing for a week now, but he still has some major hurdles to clear in his return from a left calf strain that he suffered on April 1. He's at least another full week away from rejoining the Nationals' active roster.
APRIL 14, 2023 β€’ ROTOWIRE
Not cleared for running Dickerson (calf) has yet to be cleared for running, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
Impact Dickerson is currently traveling with the Nationals and has been taking light swings, but he likely won't be ready to return from the 10-day IL when first eligible next week. The veteran outfielder suffered a left calf strain last Saturday.

Lands on injured list Dickerson was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a left calf strain.
Impact The 33-year-old exited Saturday's contest with the injury and will miss the next week and a half, at minimum. Stone Garrett was recalled from Triple-A Rochester in a corresponding move and could see action in left field while Dickerson is sidelined, though Alex Call may have a leg up for playing time.
APRIL 2, 2023 β€’ ROTOWIRE
Leaves with left calf injury Dickerson was left Saturday's game against Atlanta with a left calf injury, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.
Impact Dickerson has been replaced in left by Ildemaro Vargas. The veteran outfielder should be considered day-to-day for now, and is likely to sit out Sunday's series finale against Atlanta as a precautionary measure, at least.
APRIL 1, 2023 β€’ ROTOWIRE
Not in Opening Day lineup Dickerson will be on the bench Opening Day against Atlanta.
Impact The veteran outfielder is expected to be the Nationals' primary left fielder this season, but Alex Call will get the nod in that spot Opening Day against southpaw Max Fried. Dickerson could be more effective in a platoon role -- the 33-year-old has a career .836 OPS against right-handed pitching, compared to a .693 OPS versus lefties.
MARCH 30, 2023 β€’ ROTOWIRE
Could hit near top of order Dickerson has hit second in all three of his spring games so far, and Nationals manager Dave Martinez praised him as a "professional hitter" Thursday, Andrew Golden of The Washingt...
Impact Early spring batting orders don't always mean a lot, but Martinez describing Dickerson as a player who puts the ball in play and can work a count certainly sounds like the traditional resume of a two-hole hitter. If he does win the assignment, the 33-year-old would likely find himself batting behind CJ Abrams or Lane Thomas and ahead of the likes of Joey Meneses, Keibert Ruiz and Dominic Smith, but Dickerson's .266/.313/.403 slash line over the last three seasons doesn't hold a lot of fantasy appeal regardless of his spot in the order.

Outfielder Corey Dickerson, Nationals agree to deal for 2023

Outfielder Corey Dickerson and the Washington Nationals have agreed to a one-year contract
JANUARY 10, 2023 β€’ Associated Press
Lands $2.25 million deal with Nats Dickerson signed a one-year, $2.25 million contract with the Nationals on Tuesday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
Impact Dickerson will have the ability to earn an additional $750,000 in incentives. The 33-year-old collected a .267/.300/.399 batting line with six home runs over 297 plate appearances for the Cardinals last season. He appears lined up to start in left field against right-handed pitching for the Nats in 2023. It's a good landing spot in terms of Dickerson's playing time outlook, but his fantasy appeal is limited to deep leagues.
