Poised to pitch this weekend Manager Carlos Mendoza said Tuesday that Scott (hip) is expected to be reinstated from the 15-day injured list to start this weekend against the Phillies, Andrew Tredinnick of The...

Impact The right-hander will be eligible to be reinstated from the injured list Saturday, so his stay on the shelf due to a hip impingement will end up being a brief one. Scott threw a simulated game Monday and wil re-enter the Mets' starting rotation without a minor-league rehab assignment.

Set for sim game Monday Scott (hip) is scheduled to throw a simulated game Monday, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.

Impact The 27-year-old right-hander has been dealing with a hip impingement, but is feeling much better after receiving a shot last week. A timeline for Scott's return to the rotation should come into focus after the sim game, but he seems likely to get activated next week. Through nine starts for the Mets this season, Scott's produced a 3.10 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 47:19 K:BB through 40.2 innings.

Throwing off mound Scott (hip) threw a bullpen session Saturday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Impact Scott reportedly didn't have any problems while throwing off a mound for the first time since landing on the injured list Monday with a right hip impingement. The Mets plan to have him throw a couple more mound sessions before activating him around the time he's eligible to return next Saturday.

Kodai Senga will return to Mets' rotation on Tuesday after Christian Scott goes on IL

Shelved with hip impingement The Mets placed Scott on the 15-day injured list Monday due to a right hip impingement.

Impact According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, Scott's hip issue isn't believed to be serious, which should give the right-hander a chance at returning from the IL around when he's first eligible June 27. The loss of Scott will still force the Mets to add two new members to the rotation this week, with Tobias Myers already having been recalled from Triple-A Syracuse to fill one of the openings during Monday's series opener in Cincinnati. Long reliever David Peterson is a candidate to cover Scott's spot in the rotation Tuesday, and Triple-A starters Jack Wenninger and Zach Thornton also loom as potential replacements.

Ticketed for IL The Mets are expected to place Scott on the 15-day injured list in the coming days due to an unspecified issue, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

Impact According to Sammon, while the details regarding the nature of Scott's injury are unclear, the Mets believe that the 27-year-old righty is dealing with a minor concern. In any case, the loss of Scott further depletes the Mets' rotation depth and will require the team to add another pitcher to the mix Tuesday, when Scott had been scheduled to start against the Reds. If he isn't needed in relief of starter Tobias Myers in Monday's series opener, David Peterson could be a leading candidate to take Scott's spot in the rotation. The Mets could also look to call up Jonah Tong or Zach Thornton from Triple-A Syracuse to fill a spot until Kodai Senga (arm) is cleared to return from the IL.

Gives up three homers Thursday Scott did not factor into the decision in the Mets' 5-4 win over the Cardinals on Wednesday, giving up four runs on seven hits and a walk over 4.2 innings. He struck out six.

Impact Scott struggled to keep the ball in the park Wednesday -- he gave up four runs on three homers in the first two innings. Coming into the day, Scott had given up just one home run this season and none in his last six starts (29.2 innings). The right-hander now sports a 3.10 ERA with a 1.35 WHIP and 47:19 K:BB across 40.2 innings this season. Scott is tentatively lined up to face the Reds on the road in his next outing.

Earns second win Friday Scott (2-0) allowed three hits and two walks while striking out three over 5.2 shutout innings to earn the win over the Padres on Friday.

Impact Scott threw 67 of 98 pitches for strikes in this contest. He's started to show a bit more potential now that he's stretched out to a starter's workload. Over his last three starts, he's covered 16.1 innings, allowing just one run on 12 hits and six walks with 16 strikeouts in that span. Scott has a 2.50 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 41:18 K:BB through 36 innings across eight starts this season. The right-hander is projected to make his next start at home against the Cardinals. Scott looks to have done enough to keep his spot in the rotation when Kodai Senga (back) returns, as David Peterson has moved to the bullpen and Jonah Tong was reassigned to Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday.

Strikes out eight for first win Scott (1-0) earned the win against the Marlins on Saturday, allowing one run on five hits and two walks with eight strikeouts over five innings.

Impact Scott opened with four scoreless frames before allowing a run in the fifth, generating 11 swinging strikes on a season-high 96 pitches. Though he's struggled to work deep into games, the 26-year-old has yielded three earned runs or fewer in each of his seven starts this season while recording at least five strikeouts in six of them. He'll carry a 2.97 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 38:16 K:BB across 30.1 innings into a road matchup against the Padres next weekend.
