Recalled from Salt Lake
The Angels recalled Moore from Triple-A Salt Lake on Thursday, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Moore will return to the majors as the roster replacement for Mike Trout, who landed on the injured list Thursday due to a hamstring injury. Moore has worked exclusively as a second baseman in the majors but has been getting reps in left field at Triple-A recently, so the Halos may look to capitalize on the 23-year-old's newfound versatility and use him in the outfield until Trout returns.

Logging time in LF, at third base
Moore has been getting starts at third base and second base as well as in left field with Triple-A Salt Lake.
Impact
Moore played exclusively at second base over 53 games during his rookie campaign with the Angels in 2025, but he's getting reps elsewhere in the minors this season. The 23-year-old has yet to get a call-up to the big leagues during the current campaign, but that opportunity may be coming, as he's posted a strong .933 OPS with four homers, 32 RBI and six stolen bases along with a 40:44 BB:K over 41 games with Salt Lake. The Angels have been deploying Nick Madrigal and Donovan Walton at second and third base, respectively, while Wade Meckler has largely been handling left field. If any of those players go into an extended slump, or if the team simply decides it wants to give another player a look amidst another losing season, Moore could be called up for immediate regular playing time.

Returns from IL at Triple-A
Moore (leg) was activated from the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday.
Impact
Moore has been cleared to return to action after missing more than two weeks with a leg injury. The 23-year-old has offered a mixed bag at Salt Lake this season, slashing .219/.437/.452 with two home runs, four stolen bases and a 28:24 BB:K over 21 contests. The Angels remain unsettled at second base, so Moore could push for a promotion if he gets hot.

Shelved at Triple-A with leg injury
Triple-A Salt Lake placed Moore on its 7-day injured list Sunday due to a leg injury, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Impact
Moore hadn't played since April 25 on account of the injury, which Angels general manager Perry Minasian relayed is a minor issue that won't keep the young infielder on the shelf for too long. Before succumbing to the injury, Moore failed to win a spot on the Angels' Opening Day roster but had gotten off to a nice start to the season at Salt Lake with a .219/.437/.452 slash line and more walks (28) than strikeouts (24) over his 103 plate appearances.

Optioned to Triple-A
The Angels optioned Moore to Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday.
Impact
Moore entered spring training competing against Adam Frazier for the starting job at second base. The former didn't do much to express confidence in his ability to make the Opening Day roster, having gone 7-for-40 (.175) with one home run, three RBI, one stolen base and 11 strikeouts across 14 Cactus League games. Frazier will be on the Angels' Opening Day roster while Moore starts the season in the minors, where he'll look to improve his approach at the plate and earn a major-league call-up from the Halos in 2026.

Unworried about 'tough luck spring'
Moore is batting just .189 this spring, but he's shown increased exit velocity and less swing-and-miss, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports.
Impact
Per Fletcher, Moore ended play Monday with the 11th-highest average exit velocity in the majors this spring, with his 96-mph mark considerably higher than the 89 mph he registered in the majors last season. Despite the lack of results in terms of hits, Moore didn't seem concerned about his bad luck, saying, "Whether it falls or not, I'm not really worried about that right now. I just want to make sure I'm making consistent contact every day and making sure I'm at least catching one barrel a day, and a legit barrel. That's kind of where my focus has been and it's been good so far." It's also promising that Moore has been making decent contact -- his strikeout rate so far this spring is at 22.5 percent after he whiffed at a 33.7 percent clip last year. Moore is battling for the Angels' starting job at second base, with light-hitting journeyman Adam Frazier possibly his greatest competition for the role.

Getting exposure to hot corner
Moore worked out at third base Wednesday for the second straight day during spring training, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Impact
Moore still looks like the frontrunner to open the season as the Angels' top second baseman, but manager Kurt Suzuki said that the 23-year-old is getting a look at the hot corner in camp "just to open up options for him." Yoan Moncada is penciled in as the Angels' primary third baseman, but Moore could fill in at the position when the veteran needs a day off. Moore hit seven home runs and stole three bases across 184 plate appearances in his first taste of the big leagues last season, but a bloated 33.7 percent strikeout rate played a big part in him batting just .198.
