Nick Maton - Added to roster The White Sox selected Maton's contract Thursday.
Impact The 28-year-old made the Opening Day roster as a utility player, though it wouldn't be surprising if he ends up getting a look as a near-everyday player early on in the season in the wake of his huge spring. Over his 43 plate appearances in the Cactus League, Maton slashed .289/.357/.632 with four home runs. Second base or shortstop would likely represent the clearest path for Maton to see playing time.

Travis Jankowski - Officially added to roster The White Sox selected Jankowski's contract Thursday.
Impact Despite not joining the White Sox until mid-March after the Cubs granted him his release earlier in spring training, Jankowski was able to secure an outfield job with the South Siders. Unless the White Sox commit to right-handed hitters Austin Slater and Michael Taylor as full-time starters in the outfield while Mike Tauchman (hamstring) is on the injured list to begin the season, the lefty-hitting Jankowski could be a candidate to handle a large-side platoon role in the early going.

Impact Clevinger attended spring training as a non-roster invitee but quickly solidified his spot in the White Sox's Opening Day bullpen after excelling in camp as he made the transition from starting to relieving. Over his six Cactus League outings, Clevinger didn't allow a run while striking out eight and allowing three hits and one walk over six innings. The veteran righty looks to be a strong candidate to open the season as Chicago's closer, though manager Will Venable has previously suggested that he could use multiple relievers in save situations.

Mike Tauchman - Ticketed for IL White Sox general manager Chris Getz confirmed Wednesday that Tauchman (hamstring) will open the season on the injured list, Mike McGraw of the Chicago Daily Herald reports.
Impact Tauchman struggled to a .194/.265/.387 slash line over 11 Cactus League games before sustaining a hamstring injury late last week that will prevent him from breaking camp with the big club. The severity of Tauchman's hamstring injury isn't yet known, but he won't be eligible to make his season debut until April 4 once he's formally placed on the IL.
