Mike Vasil - Nursing elbow injury Vasil was removed from Saturday's Cactus League game against the Dodgers due to right elbow soreness.
Impact Vasil was visited by a trainer during the fourth inning of Saturday's game before exiting to the clubhouse. He'll undergo further tests to determine the severity of the injury, but an elbow injury will certainly put Vasil at risk of being sidelined for the start of the 2026 regular season. It would certainly be a blow to the White Sox's bullpen if Vasil were to miss time after a solid 2025 season, when he posted a 2.50 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 82:52 K:BB across 101 innings.

Mike Vasil - Exits with trainer Saturday Vasil (undisclosed) was removed from the fourth inning of Saturday's Cactus League game against the Dodgers, Kyle Williams of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Impact Vasil got the first two Dodgers batters out in the top of the fourth inning before issuing back-to-back walks. That prompted a visit from a trainer, and Vasil went to the clubhouse after a brief conversation. The nature and severity of the injury are not clear, but the White Sox should have an update on Vasil's status within the next few of days after he undergoes testing. He tossed 46 pitches (27 strikes) and allowed two hits and two walks while striking out three across 3.2 scoreless innings.

Sean Newcomb - Will pitch out of bullpen in 2026 White Sox manager Will Venable told reporters Saturday that Newcomb will work out of the bullpen for the 2026 season, Kyle Williams of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Impact Newcomb has operated as a starter for most of his major-league career, but he found success out of the bullpen with the Red Sox and Athletics in 2025, posting a 2.73 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 91:31 K:BB across 92.1 innings. He inked a one-year deal with the White Sox in December and was competing for a rotation spot for the 2026 season. Although he won't open the season as a starter, Newcomb could see some spot starts to help give the White Sox's rotation extra rest.
MARCH 14 ROTOWIRE
Sean Newcomb - Impressive spring outing Newcomb allowed two runs (none earned) on three hits and one walk while striking out six across 3.0 innings in Friday's Cactus League game against the Cubs.
Impact Newcomb has made four spring outings and had allowed six earned runs across eight innings entering Friday's outing. His appearance against the Cubs was his most positive of the spring, and he also ramped up to 63 pitches. Newcomb looks likely to begin the season in long relief, but he could work in a swing role and still has a chance to crack the rotation.

Jonathon Long - Faces pitchers Friday Long (elbow) faced live pitching Friday as he continues to ramp up his activity level, MLB.com reports.
Impact Long has resumed regular workouts and now facing live pitching is another step forward in his rehab process from an injury he sustained in an exhibition game last month. The 24-year-old was diagnosed with a left elbow bruise and cleared of any structural issues earlier in March, so he should be fully healthy in the near future. Long figures to being the season with Triple-A Iowa and could push toward the majors at some point if he continues to tear up the level like he did in 2025.
