Impact Spiers was non-tendered by Cincinnati last week, but he'll remain in the organization on a minor-league pact. The right-hander is expected to miss most, if not all, of the 2026 season after having Tommy John surgery in late July, so it's likely a two-year minor-league contract.

Impact Spiers was DFA'd by the Reds on Tuesday and will now officially leave the organization after not being offered a contract ahead of Friday's deadline. The 28-year-old righty underwent Tommy John surgery in late July and is expected to miss most, if not all, of the 2026 season.

Impact Cincinnati needed a 40-man spot for one of its young prospects, and Spiers was a likely choice to be bounced given he's expected to miss most, if not all, of 2026. The right-hander made three appearances (two starts) in the majors this past season before undergoing Tommy John surgery at the end of July. Spiers has put up a 5.69 ERA and 1.57 WHIP over 117 career innings in the majors.
