Receives another start Fulmer is scheduled to start Sunday's game against the Athletics in Oakland.
Impact Fulmer will be rewarded with a second turn through the rotation after he dazzled in his first start of the season in the Angels' final game before the All-Star break this past Sunday. Since he had been transitioning from a relief role, Fulmer wasn't fully stretched out for his start against the Mariners, but he was still impressive during his time on the mound. He struck out seven over 4.2 innings and had a no-hitter going before he was lifted after his 77th pitch of the day. Fulmer should be able to provide the Angels with a bit more length this Sunday against the Athletics, and another strong showing would bolster his case for sticking in the rotation on a more permanent basis.

Excellent in spot start Fulmer did not allow a hit or a run over 4.2 innings of work Sunday against the Mariners. He walked one and struck out seven and did not factor into the decision.
Impact Fulmer was perfect for 4.2 innings before Keston Hiura made an error. Fulmer then hit and walked a batter to load the bases, which abruptly ended his day at 77 pitches. Hunter Strickland came on in relief and was able to strand the runners. Fulmer's seven strikeouts were the most he's had in any outing since he had nine back on Sept. 10, 2017. His 77 pitches and 4.2 innings were both the most he's thrown this year. The 30-year-old has been a nice pickup for the Angels' bullpen this year, as he heads into the break with a 3.45 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 49:23 K:BB in 47 innings.

To start bullpen game Fulmer will start Sunday against the Mariners in what's expected to be a bullpen game, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Impact The Angels are deploying a committee approach for Sunday's first-half finale, with Fulmer opening what's slated to be a bullpen game. Fulmer hasn't pitched since Monday, when he tossed three innings against the Rangers, and has thrown as many as four innings in an appearance this season. It's unclear exactly how long the Angels plan to keep the 30-year-old on the mound, but Roansy Contreras is the primary candidate to follow Fulmer.

Outrighted to Triple-A Fulmer cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Impact Assuming he declines the outright assignment, Fulmer will become a free agent after the World Series. The 29-year-old holds a career 6.14 ERA over parts of seven major-league seasons.
OCTOBER 16, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Blanks A's over five innings Fulmer (1-1) got the win over the Athletics on Sunday after tossing five shutout innings while allowing just two hits and three walks. He struck out three.
Impact Fulmer handled the Athletics and picked up his first win since 2019 when he was with the White Sox. The former first round pick has not been effective as a big leaguer and struggled mightily at Triple-A Salt Lake with a 5.27 ERA and 1.78 WHIP in 2023. He should not be in consideration to make the 2024 opening day roster, even if the Angels go into rebuilding mode.
OCTOBER 2, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Starting finale vs. A's Fulmer is starting Sunday's game against the Athletics.
Impact The Angels have nothing to play for, and they will give Fulmer a shot as a starter in what should be a favorable matchup on the last day of the season. Expectations should be very low for Fulmer, who logged a 5.27 ERA at Triple-A and has a career 6.37 ERA in 135.2 career innings in the majors. He logged four innings against the Twins on Sept. 24 and then threw one inning against the Rangers on Sept. 25, so he theoretically should be rested enough to go four or five innings against Oakland.
OCTOBER 1, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Promoted to majors The Angels called Fulmer up from Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Impact Fulmer has spent all season with Salt Lake, where he posted a 5.27 ERA and 1.78 WHIP through 41 innings. Despite his poor performance in the minors and the fact he hasn't pitched in the majors since 2021, it's possible Fulmer gets into Sunday's contest as the Angels prepare for a bullpen game. Still, Fulmer shouldn't be viewed as a reliable fantasy option.
SEPTEMBER 24, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Latches on with Angels Fulmer signed a minor-league contract with the Angels on Monday.
Impact Fulmer was with the Mariners in spring training before being released shortly after Opening Day. He hasn't pitched anywhere since then but is now likely to report to Triple-A Salt Lake with his new organization to provide some relief depth.
MAY 30, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Re-signs with Dodgers Fulmer was re-signed by the Dodgers on Friday, Kyle Glaser of Baseball America reports.
Impact Fulmer was reportedly released earlier in the day, but the Dodgers abruptly brought the right-hander back in time for Triple-A Oklahoma City's evening game, during which he pitched two scoreless innings. Fulmer was called up to the big club in late April, but he didn't get into any contests with Los Angeles. He's posted a 1.98 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 13:9 K:BB across 13.2 innings in the minors this season.
MAY 14, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Released by Dodgers Fulmer was released by the Dodgers on Friday, Kyle Glaser of Baseball America reports.
Impact Fulmer was designated for assignment by the Dodgers in early May, and he'll now be free to seek out another organization. The 28-year-old was a first-round pick by the White Sox in 2015, but he's failed to carve out a meaningful role in the majors while making appearances in six consecutive seasons. The right-hander is unlikely to have a significant role if he lands another contract.
MAY 13, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Clears waivers, moved to Triple-A Fulmer cleared waivers Thursday and was outrighted to Triple-A Oklahoma City, independent baseball writer Blake Harris reports.
Impact Fulmer received a brief call-up to the Dodgers this past weekend but didn't appear in any games. He was subsequently designated for assignment but will remain with the organization. Fulmer has tossed 11.2 innings with Oklahoma City this season, posting a 2.31 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 12:8 K:BB.
MAY 6, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Designated for assignment Fulmer was designated for assignment by the Dodgers on Monday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
Impact Fulmer was called up on Saturday but didn't get into a game during his two days on the roster. He'll now be available for any team to claim off waivers, but his 6.41 ERA across parts of six major-league seasons suggests that he has a good chance of passing through unclaimed.
MAY 2, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Called up by Dodgers Fulmer was called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Impact Fulmer was effective in eight appearances with Oklahoma City, so the Dodgers decided to add him to the roster and demote fellow reliever Andre Jackson. Nine other relievers reside in the Dodgers' bullpen, but it seems likely the club will want to see how he fares in his return to the big leagues.

Scooped by Dodgers Fulmer has been selected by the Dodgers in the second round of the 2021 Rule 5 draft, JJ Cooper of Baseball America reports.
Impact Fulmer was a first-round pick by the White Sox in 2015, and he's spent parts of the last six seasons in the big leagues. However, he's failed to generate much success at the top level. The right-hander posted a 6.66 ERA and 1.52 WHIP in 25.2 innings across 20 relief appearances with the Reds last year. However, he should be in the mix for a low-leverage relief role with the Dodgers at some point in 2022.
DECEMBER 8, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Stays in organization Fulmer was outrighted to Triple-A Louisville after clearing waivers Monday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Impact Fulmer will remain in the Reds organization after none of the other 29 teams were willing to trade for him or scoop him up off waivers when he was designated for assignment Friday. Before being dropped from the 40-man roster, the right-hander made 20 appearances out of the Cincinnati bullpen, posting a 6.66 ERA and 1.52 WHIP.
MAY 24, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Designated for assignment Fulmer was designated for assignment by the Reds on Friday.
Impact Fulmer had been with the team since the start of the season, throwing 25.2 innings across 20 relief appearances, but he failed to find much success. He struggled to a 6.66 ERA , striking out 20.7 percent of opposing batters while walking 11.2 percent. His career 6.41 ERA means it's likely he passes through waivers unclaimed. Brad Brach's contract was selected in a corresponding move.
