Outrighted to Nashville Rodriguez cleared waivers Thursday and was sent outright to Triple-A Nashville, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Impact Rodriguez was dropped from the Brewers' 40-man roster Monday to help make room for Milwaukee's trade-deadline acquisitions, and he'll officially remain with the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 24-year-old righty has given up four earned runs in 9.1 innings with the Brewers this year, but he owns an unsightly 8.35 ERA and 2.40 WHIP across 36.2 innings at Nashville.

Back in action at Triple-A The Brewers reinstated Rodriguez (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list July 12 and optioned him to Triple-A Nashville.

Impact Rodriguez made one rehab appearance apiece in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League and with Nashville before being assigned to the Triple-A affiliate when he was activated shortly before the All-Star break. After making a 2.2-inning start with Nashville immediately following his return from the IL on July 12, Rodriguez worked in relief during his first appearance of the second half Saturday, yielding four earned runs on two hits and three walks over one inning.

Impact Milwaukee optioned Rodriguez to Triple-A Nashville on May 31, but he didn't make an appearance in the minors before reverting to the Brewers' injured list June 8 after being diagnosed with a right shoulder impingement. While pitching in his first game in a month Wednesday, Rodriguez retired just four of the eight batters he faced. He'll likely get stretched out as a starter over the course of his rehab assignment but is expected to be optioned to Nashville once the Brewers are ready to activate him from the 15-day IL.
