INJURIES

Likely out until mid-August Rodon (elbow) is not expected to be ready to rejoin the Yankees' rotation until around mid-August, Jon Heyman of The New York Post reports.
Impact Rodon landed on the 15-day injured list this past Friday with a left elbow injury. While the hurler's UCL is uncompromised, he is dealing with significant inflammation that's likely to keep him shelved for at least 4-to-6 weeks. The southpaw got a late start to the season while recovering from offseason elbow surgery, so the Yankees undoubtedly will tread lightly here. Rodon has turned in a 3.30 ERA and 52:26 K:BB over 46.1 innings covering nine starts for the Yankees this season.

UCL intact, has heavy inflammation Rodon said his UCL is intact, but he's dealing with "heavy inflammation" in his left elbow, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
Impact Rodon "hopes" he's not facing a lengthy recovery and mentioned a possible no-throwing period of only one week, though nothing is set in stone, according to Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News. Rodon was placed on the 15-day injured list earlier Friday, and it sounds like he could miss more than the minimum two weeks.

Sent to IL with elbow inflammation The Yankees placed Rodon on the 15-day injured list Friday with left elbow inflammation.
Impact Rodon had been lined up to start Saturday against the Twins, but he'll now spend the next two weeks letting his arm rest after he tossed five innings of one-hit ball last Sunday against the Red Sox. His control was a bit shaky, however, as Rodon walked four batters. After missing the first 40 games of the season recovering from offseason elbow surgery, Rodon has posted a 3.30 ERA, 12.5 WHIP and 52:26 K:BB across his first 46.1 innings of 2026.

Walks four in no-decision Rodon allowed two unearned runs on one hit and four walks while striking out six over five innings in a no-decision Sunday versus the Red Sox.
Impact Rodon didn't have the best control, though it was Oswaldo Cabrera's fielding error in the fourth inning that allowed the Red Sox to scrape together a pair of runs. Rodon has mostly been steady throughout the season, allowing no more than three runs in any of his nine starts. He's posted a 3.30 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 52:26 K:BB across 46.1 innings. The veteran southpaw is projected to make his next start at home versus the Twins.

Collects fourth win Rodon (4-2) picked up the win Tuesday, giving up three runs on six hits and two walks over 5.1 innings in a 4-3 victory over the Tigers. He struck out five.
Impact The veteran southpaw wasn't exactly efficient, getting pulled after 87 pitches (55 strikes) following back-to-back doubles by Dillon Dingler and Matt Vierling in the bottom of the sixth, but the Yankees' bullpen preserved the win for Rodon. He's won three straight starts and four straight decisions, and he has yet to allow more than three runs in a start since coming off the IL in early May. Rodon will take a 3.70 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 46:22 K:BB through 41.1 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road this weekend in Boston.

Mixed bag in third win Rodon (3-2) notched the win Wednesday against the White Sox, allowing three runs on seven hits and one walk in five innings. He struck out seven.
Impact Rodon yielded mixed results Wednesday, giving up all three of his runs in the third inning while also surrendering a season-worst seven knocks on the evening. The 33-year-old southpaw fanned seven in his third consecutive start, however, and also allowed a season-low one walk. Rodon will take a steady 3.50 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 41:20 K:BB over 36 innings into his next scheduled outing in Detroit.
