INJURIES

Strong performance in rehab start Carrasco (hamstring) allowed two hits and no walks while striking out six in three scoreless innings in Sunday's rehab start at Triple-A Syracuse.
Impact Carrasco only needed 38 pitches to get through his outing Sunday, and he threw 32 strikes across three frames. Manager Luis Rojas was impressed with the right-hander's performance, and the skipper said that "there's a chance" Carrasco's next outing could come with the major-league club, according to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com. Regardless of whether Carrasco makes his next appearance at Triple-A Syracuse or with the big-league club, he's only stretched out to pitch about four innings.

Another rehab start on tap Carrasco (hamstring) will make another rehab start at Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.
Impact The Mets were considering activating Carrasco to make a major-league start Sunday or Monday, but he'll require at least one more rehab appearance before he returns from the 60-day injured list. The right-hander has made two rehab starts so far, but he allowed five runs on three hits and three walks while striking out one in 1.2 innings during his most recent outing. If Sunday's start goes well, Carrasco could potentially rejoin the big-league late next week.

Activation uncertain for Sunday Mets manager Luis Rojas said a decision hasn't been made whether Carrasco (hamstring) will be activated from the 60-day injured list to start Sunday's game against Toronto or remai...
Impact The pitching-needy Mets could surely use another capable rotation arm after moving yet another starter (Robert Stock, hamstring) to the injured list Wednesday, but Carrasco may not be ready to make his New York debut quite yet after a rocky rehab outing with Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday. He needed 41 pitches (23 strikes) to record five outs, giving up five runs on three hits -- all home runs -- and three walks. The low pitch count and poor command suggest that Carrasco could probably benefit from at least one more tune-up at Triple-A, but the Mets' lack of healthy rotation alternatives could make the club willing to activate the 34-year-old this weekend.

Another rehab outing on tap Carrasco (hamstring) will report to Triple-A Syracuse for a rehab start Tuesday, Justin Toscano of The Bergen Record reports.
Impact The veteran right-hander threw 27 pitches over two frames with High-A Brooklyn on Thursday, and he's scheduled to cover about three innings during Tuesday's rehab outing. If all goes well with Syracuse, Carrasco could rejoin the starting rotation Sunday versus the Blue Jays, though the Mets won't make that decision until seeing how the 34-year-old feels after the appearance.

Completes successful rehab outing Carrasco (hamstring) threw 27 pitches across two innings in a rehab outing with High-A Brooklyn on Thursday, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.
Impact Carrasco appeared on the mound for the first time in a competitive game this season. He threw 17 strikes and generated four swinging strikes across two scoreless innings while touching 94 mph, and the fact that he was originally set to work only one inning is encouraging. Assuming no news emerges of a setback, the appearance is a step forward toward Carrasco's potential return in late July or early August.
