Heads to injured list
The Mets placed Carrasco on the 15-day injured list Tuesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
Impact
New York called up reliever Stephen Nogosek from Triple-A Syracuse to temporarily replace Carrasco on the 26-man active roster, but David Peterson is expected to be promoted from Syracuse later in the week when Carrasco's next turn in the rotation comes up. The Mets announced earlier Tuesday that Carrasco is expected to be sidelined for 3-to-4 weeks due to the injury he sustained in Monday's 13-1 loss to Atlanta.

Mets' Carrasco likely out up to a month with oblique strain
New York Mets pitcher Carlos Carrasco is expected to miss up to a month after straining his left oblique in a game this week against Atlanta

Headed for multi-week absence
The Mets announced Tuesday that Carrasco's MRI earlier in the day revealed a low-grade left oblique strain. He's expected to require 3-to-4 weeks to recover from the injury.
Impact
New York didn't immediately place Carrasco on the 15-day injured list, but he'll likely be deactivated prior to Tuesday's game in Atlanta or Wednesday once the Mets find a player to replace him on the 26-man active roster. David Peterson will presumably be called up from Triple-A Syracuse to join the rotation as a replacement for Carrasco beginning with Saturday's doubleheader in Philadelphia, and the team will also need to break in a temporary sixth starter that same day. With Carrasco now likely to remain out until around mid-September, fantasy managers in most redraft leagues are probably best off dropping him for a healthier option rather than waiting out his return. The injury comes at an especially tough time for Carrasco after he gotten off to a strong start to the second half with a 2.63 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 24:7 K:BB over 27.1 innings in his first outings since the All-Star break.

Scheduled for MRI
Carrasco is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Tuesday after exiting his start in Monday's 13-1 loss to Atlanta with left side tightness, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Carrasco was charged with three earned runs on four hits and one walk over two innings before departing when he experienced the side tightness following his final pitch of the night. The 35-year-old had been lined up to make two starts this week, but the side injury tentatively puts his availability for this weekend's series in Philadelphia in peril. If Carrasco can't pitch in either end of Saturday's doubleheader, the Mets may have to call up two pitchers from the minors to start the two games.

Impact
Carrasco was forced to hit the pause button with two outs in the second inning due to a rain delay, and while he was able to return following the 55-minute delay, it appears as though he failed to get all the way warmed back up before returning to the bump. The right-hander was spotted grabbing his side in the dugout after picking up the final out of the second inning, per Anthony DiComo of MLB.com. The severity of Carrasco's injury has yet to be determined, and he's likely headed for further testing.

Pitches into seventh
Carrasco (13-4) earned the win Tuesday after he pitched 6.2 innings, surrendering two runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out nine versus the Reds.
Impact
Carrasco was able to limit the damage against him in this one to a two-run homer by Jake Fraley with one out in the top of the seventh frame. The nine strikeouts were his highest total since June 6 and he has now allowed three or fewer runs in seven straight outings. Over that stretch, Carrasco has produced a 1.69 ERA over 42.2 innings while registering four quality starts.

Puts in solid outing for win
Carrasco (12-4) allowed three runs on four hits and a walk with six strikeouts in six innings to pick up the win over Atlanta on Thursday.
Impact
Carrasco limited the damage to the fifth inning, when he gave up an RBI single to Michael Harris and a two-run home run to Ronald Acuna. In his three previous starts, Carrasco had strung together an 18.2-inning scoreless streak -- he wasn't that sharp Thursday, but it was still enough for his third win in four outings. The right-hander now owns a 3.82 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 114:31 K:BB across 117.2 innings through 21 starts. He's projected for a home start versus the Reds next week.

Extends scoreless streak in win
Carrasco (11-4) earned the win over Miami on Saturday, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out seven batters over 7.2 scoreless innings.
Impact
Carrasco dominated the Marlins, allowing only one extra-base hit and preventing any runners from reaching third base en route to his 100th career victory. The veteran hurler was efficient, throwing 63 of 93 pitches for strikes in his second-longest outing of the campaign. Carrasco went through a rough patch in June but has turned things around dramatically in July, posting a 0.90 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 27:9 K:BB over 30 innings while compiling a 3-0 record. He's held his opponent scoreless in each of his past three starts and hasn't allowed any runs across his past 18.2 frames.
