Sent down by Atlanta Wilson was optioned to Atlanta's alternate training site Thursday.

Impact Wilson served out of the bullpen while Max Fried (back) was sidelined, but he'll return to the alternate training site after Fried was reinstated from the injured list Thursday. During three appearances during his most recent stint on the active roster, Wilson earned one save as he allowed four runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out four over six innings.

Impact This was not any ordinary save opportunity for Wilson as he came into the game in the sixth with the Braves already leading 22-8. He gave up his only run off a Jorge Alfaro single in the seventh and got Jazz Chisholm to pop out out the very next at-bat to escape a bases-loaded jam. Wilson has now made two appearances since being recalled Sept. 6 and has given up three runs on eight hits and two walks while only managing two strikeouts in five innings.

Impact The 22-year-old was recalled by the Braves last week and made one appearance during his time with the team, allowing two runs on one hit and four walks over 1.2 innings. Wilson could still rejoin the Braves later in the year, but for now he'll head back to the alternate training site.

Impact After starter Touki Toussaint needed 86 pitches to record 12 outs, Wilson was called upon to provide some length out of the bullpen in his season debut. The right-hander struggled to locate his offerings, pumping in only 25 of his 52 pitches for strikes while giving up a solo home run to Aaron Judge. The Braves will have a need for a fifth starter during next week's series with the Nationals, but Wilson's wretched showing Tuesday may have temporarily taken him out of the mix for a spot in the rotation.
