INJURIES

Finds power stroke Sunday Anderson went 2-for-3 with two solo home runs and a walk in Sunday's loss to the Red Sox.
Impact Anderson opened the scoring for the Brewers in the fourth with a shot to right center and then tacked on another in the eighth. They were his fourth and fifth homers on the year, and his first time leaving the yard since his multi-homer game against the Mets on April 4. The 30-year-old got off to a blistering start to the year but has not maintained consistency so far. He's now raised his line to .280/.364/.533 and has 18 RBI, 15 runs and a 11:24 BB:K over 88 plate appearances.

Brian Anderson was cut by the Marlins. He's been a key part of Brewers' hot start
Out of lineup Wednesday Anderson is not in the starting for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.
Impact Anderson will take a seat against Drey Jameson and the Diamondbacks for the series finale against Arizona. Mike Brosseau gets the start at third base and will hit ninth while Joey Wiemer will play right field and hit in the eighth spot.

Clubs two homers, drives in six Anderson went 3-for-4 with two home runs, a double and six RBI during Tuesday's 9-0 win against the Mets.
Impact The 29-year-old delivered his first long ball of the season in Monday's blowout victory over New York, and he connected again twice to power Milwaukee's offense Tuesday. Anderson hit just eight home runs in 98 games for the Marlins last season, but he's off to a hot start with the Brewers in 2023.
APRIL 5, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Hits first homer in blowout Anderson went 2-for-3 with a homer, three RBI and two runs scored in Monday's 10-0 victory over the Mets.
Impact Anderson crushed a Carlos Carrasco offering to center in the fourth inning with a runner on to give the Brewers a 3-0 lead. That's the first homer of the season for the right-handed hitter, and the first for Anderson as a member of the Brewers. With Luis Urias (hamstring) on the shelf, Anderson is expected to receive most of his playing time at the hot corner over the next two months.
APRIL 3, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Settling back in at hot corner Anderson will start at third base and bat seventh in Monday's game against the Mets.
Impact Anderson picked up his first two starts of the season in right field, but he'll man third base for the second time in as many days following Luis Urias' (hamstring) recent move to the injured list. While Urias is on the shelf, Anderson is expected to play third base on a regular basis against right-handed pitching, though he could see more time in the corner outfield versus left-handers. Wherever Anderson is used in the field likely won't influence his fantasy outlook in any major way, as he should already carry eligibility in outfield and third base in most leagues after logging 41 and 42 starts at those respective positions in 2022. Anderson has recorded exactly one hit and one walk in each of the Brewers' first three games of the season and has scored twice and driven in one run.
APRIL 3, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Will see bulk of starts in RF Anderson will play right field "quite a bit" at the start of the season for the Brewers, manager Craig Counsell told Adam McCalvy of MLB.com on Wednesday.
Impact It seemed when Anderson was first signed back in January that the plan was to play him primarily at third base as Luis Urias slid over to second. However, Tyrone Taylor's (elbow) injury created an opening in right field and Brice Turang seized the second base gig, allowing Urias to stay at third and Anderson to play right. His leash figures to be pretty short, though, as the Brewers have some talented young outfielders waiting at Triple-A Nashville and also Jesse Winker available to play the outfield when he's not at designated hitter.

Racking up hits this spring Anderson is 8-for-19 (.421) with two home runs through nine games this spring in the Cactus League.
Impact Anderson had a rough final year in Miami last season, but there's some thought that he could be rejuvenated offensively following an offseason move to Milwaukee. He's in line for everyday playing time out of the gate, whether in the corner outfield or his standard position at third base, and American Family Field is a lot friendlier to hitters than loanDepot park. There should deep-league fantasy appeal here.

Finally healthy, Brian Anderson is looking forward to a fresh start with the Brewers The right-handed-hitting utility man expects to see the bulk of his playing time at third base and in the outfield with Milwaukee.
JANUARY 23, 2023 • JSONLINE.COM
Expected to play primarily at 3B Anderson told reporters via Zoom on Sunday that he will primarily play third base, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Impact Anderson also said the team has talked to him about playing in the outfield, and also potentially at first base. The former Miami infielder/outfielder signed a one-year, $3.5 million deal with the Brewers after being non-tendered by the Marlins following a disappointing 2022 season where he posted a .657 OPS over 98 games.
JANUARY 23, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Signs on with Milwaukee Anderson agreed to a contract with the Brewers on Tuesday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.
Impact Anderson was non-tendered by the Marlins over the winter after slashing .222/.311/.346 with eight homers and 28 RBi over 98 games with Miami. After serving mainly as an everyday third baseman through his first five seasons with the Marlins, Anderson moved into more of a utility role in 2022, but a downturn in performance at the plate resulted in Miami cutting him earlier in the offseason. With the move to Milwaukee, Anderson will get the chance to win the starting job at the hot corner or in right field this spring, and at the very least, he should see plenty of playing time against left-handed pitching in 2023.

MLB tender deadline: Bellinger, Voit among 83 players cut

NOVEMBER 19, 2022 • Associated Press
Non-tendered by Miami The Marlins declined to tender Anderson a contract for 2023, Craig Mish of SportsGrid.com reports.
Impact Anderson has battled injuries over the past two seasons, falling short of 100 games played both years, and the Marlins decided to move on rather than pay an above-market rate for Anderson's services. Despite his injury woes, Anderson (career .750 OPS) figures to get a big-league contract in free agency.

Sitting out finale Anderson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Atlanta.
Impact Anderson will head to the bench for the second time in three games to close out the season. The 29-year-old entered Wednesday's contest with a .657 OPS, the lowest mark of his six-year big-league career.
OCTOBER 5, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Takes seat Monday Anderson is out of the lineup for Monday's game against Atlanta, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Impact While moving between right field and designated hitter, Anderson picked up starts in eight of Miami's last nine games while posting a .598 OPS. He'll get a breather for Monday's series opener after an 0-for-5, three-strikeout showing in Sunday's 4-3 win over Milwaukee in 12 innings.
