GAME LOG

INJURIES

Snags 12th win Suter (12-5) struck out two in a perfect inning, earning the win Sunday versus Pittsburgh.
Impact The southpaw worked the fifth inning after Eric Lauer lasted only four frames in his return from the COVID-19 injured list. Suter kept Pittsburgh off the bases, and Milwaukee held onto a narrow 2-1 lead to the end of the game. As a multi-inning reliever, Suter has been particularly effective at snagging wins this year. He's added a save, six holds and seven blown saves while posting a 2.81 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 57:18 K:BB through 57.2 innings.

Notches first career save Suter picked up his first career save in Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader with the Cubs.
Impact With Josh Hader (COVID-19) out of action and both Devin Williams and Brad Boxberger pitching in the first game of the twin bill, manager Craig Counsell turned to Suter for the final four outs of the nightcap and the southpaw delivered. Fantasy players should not count on Suter tallying more than another save or two, but he is still provide value elsewhere, allowing just one earned run in 15.1 innings (0.59 ERA) while racking up three wins and posting a 1.04 WHIP over his last 12 trips to the mound.

Falls in save opportunity Suter blew the save Saturday against the Giants, allowing a run on two hits in one inning of work.
Impact Suter came on in the ninth to protect a 2-1 lead and secure the win for starter Brandon Woodruff, but Avisail Garcia misplayed Tommy La Stella's two-out fly ball into a run-scoring triple. It was the first earned run allowed by Suter since July 7, ending his streak of 10 consecutive scoreless appearances.

Notches 11th win Suter (11-5) struck out two in a perfect inning to earn the win Friday versus San Francisco.
Impact With 11 wins, Suter ranks first in the majors among relief pitchers. He successfully stranded the initial runner in the 10th inning Friday, and Milwaukee walked it off with a Rowdy Tellez single. Suter's 1.31 WHIP suggests he's gotten a bit lucky to maintain a 2.82 ERA through 54.1 innings, but he's emerged as a fairly reliable option in high-leverage situations.

Collects win Wednesday Suter (10-5) allowed a hit and a walk with one strikeout in a scoreless inning, earning the win Wednesday over Pittsburgh.
Impact The southpaw kept Milwaukee within a run with a scoreless seventh inning, and Rowdy Tellez provided a three-run homer in the bottom half of the frame. Suter has been a fairly stable option in the middle innings this year with a 2.87 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 51:18 K:BB across 53.1 innings. He hasn't allowed an earned run since July 7, but he's yielded four unearned runs in his last 12 innings. The 31-year-old reliever has added six holds while taking six blown saves in 42 appearances.

Impact Suter allowed the first two batters he faced to reach before Jeff McNeil's walkoff two-run single completed the Mets' comeback. After a run of seven straight scoreless outings spanning 6.2 innings, Suter has given up three runs (two earned) in his last two appearances. For the year, he has a 3.70 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, 41:15 K:BB, five holds and five blown saves through 41.1 innings.

Records fourth hold Suter recorded two outs and picked up his fourth hold of the season in Tuesday's victory over the Reds.
Impact Suter was tagged for three earned runs his previous time out, but he bounced back with his sixth scoreless appearance in his last seven trips to the mound. Suter has not been as sharp early on as he was the last two seasons, and he is not working in a role that is not typically fantasy-friendly. However, he is providing more value than your standard middle reliever, as in addition to his four holds he has six wins -- a mark that ties him for the team lead.
