Returns to Triple-A The Rockies optioned Fulford to Triple-A Albuquerque Tuesday.

Impact The 27-year-old was up with the Rockies the past week but will return to Triple-A since Hunter Goodman (shoulder) was activated from the injured list Tuesday. Fulford hasn't made much of an impact offensively when up with Colorado this year with a .174/.253/.275 slash in 43 games.

Recalled, starting Tuesday The Rockies recalled Fulford from Triple-A Albuquerque, and the 27-year-old will start behind home plate and bat eighth against the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Impact The move gives the Rockies much-needed depth behind home plate after star catcher Hunter Goodman (shoulder) was placed on the 10-day injured list. Fulford will be thrust into action immediately following his promotion to the majors, where he is slashing .177/.254/.290 with four steals, one home run and seven RBI across 71 plate appearances with the Rockies this season.

Swipes two bags Monday Fulford went 0-for-2 with a walk, two runs and two stolen bases in a 7-6 victory versus the Rangers on Monday.

Impact Fulford was called up from Triple-A Albuquerque ahead of the contest and got a start as the Rockies' DH. He reached on a fielder's choice in the fourth inning and subsequently stole second base before coming home on a Brenton Doyle single. Fulford then walked in the sixth, swiped second base again and scored another run. The catcher came into Monday with one stolen base over 41 career big-league games, but he did rank in the 91st percentile in sprint speed last season and swiped double-digit bags two separate years in the minors.
