Returns from virus-related absence Waddell made his return from Triple-A Memphis' COVID-19 injured list Friday and appeared out of the bullpen Saturday, striking out two and allowing a hit in a scoreless inning.

Impact Waddell's relief appearance was his first with either Triple-A or St. Louis since July 9, as the 27-year-old had been shut down on two occasions due to virus-related health and safety protocols. He looks like he's healthy again as the season winds down, but Waddell's extended absence may be enough to take him out of the running for a promotion to the big club in September.
