Impact Lockridge will give up his spot on the 26-man active roster to shortstop Cooper Pratt (hamstring), who was reinstated from the 10-day injured list. After he was activated Aug. 1 following an extended stay on the IL while recovering from arthroscopic right knee surgery, Lockridge had served mostly in a short-side platoon role in the Milwaukee outfield over the last three weeks, slashing .143/.200/.143 over 10 games.

Impact Lockridge has been on the shelf since May after suffering a deep laceration and cartilage damage in his right knee, but he was cleared to begin a rehab assignment July 24 and has since gone 4-for-17 with a homer, two RBI and three runs scored in five Triple-A games. Now fully recovered, he'll serve as Milwaukee's reserve outfielder and will likely be a candidate to return to Triple-A once Sal Frelick (shoulder) is healthy.

Impact Nashville's game Thursday was postponed by inclement weather, so Lockridge's first rehab game was pushed back a day. The outfielder is recovering from arthroscopic surgery to address cartilage damage in his right knee. Lockridge has not played in a game since early May, so he will likely require more than just a few rehab contests. He's also facing an uncertain playing time situation upon activation, as the Brewers' outfield situation is crowded.

Approaching rehab assignment Manager Pat Murphy said Saturday that Lockridge (knee) is expected to begin a rehab assignment next week, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Impact Lockridge initially landed on the IL in early May due to a deep laceration in his right knee, and his time on the shelf was extended when he underwent arthroscopic surgery in June to address cartilage damage. He'll presumably require an extended stint in the minors before returning to the active roster. It's worth noting that the Brewers have promoted top prospect Luis Lara to join Jackson Chourio, Garrett Mitchell and Sal Frelick (shoulder) in Milwaukee's outfield corps since Lockridge went on the IL, so it may be difficult for Lockridge to earn playing time with the big club once he's healthy.
