Ji-Man Choi - Nearing rehab assignmentChoi (hamstring) could begin a rehab assignment with the rookie-level Florida Coast League affiliate Thursday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
ImpactChoi felt good after fielding grounders Tuesday, and he'll test his hamstring during pregame workouts again Wednesday. Although it's encouraging that he's on track to return to game action Thursday, he'll likely require a lengthy rehab assignment since manager Kevin Cash said Tuesday that the 30-year-old isn't close to being activated.

Matt Wisler - Won't return until next weekWisler (finger) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Friday before facing hitters Sunday at the Rays' spring facility in Port Charlotte, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network r...
ImpactAfter striking out the side in scoreless inning during his rehab appearance Monday in the rookie-level Florida Complex League, Wisler appeared to be a candidate to return from the 10-day injured list Wednesday, when the Rays' roster expanded from 26 to 28 men. Evidently, the Rays felt Wisler needed some more time to work back from the hand issue, so he'll remain on the shelf through at least the end of the week. If all goes well in Sunday's throwing session, Wisler could make his return from the IL early next week.
