Optioned back to OKC The Dodgers optioned Miller to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Impact The move comes one day after another poor start which saw Miller surrender four runs on seven hits and a walk across two innings against the Marlins. He's managed an ugly 8.52 ERA and 1.77 WHIP in a horribly disappointing 2024 campaign. The Dodgers have not yet announced who will be taking Miller's spot in the rotation.

It marked Miller's second-consecutive start in which he allowed at least six runs and he's now given up multiple home runs in five of his last six outings. The right-hander's ERA now sits at an atrocious 8.17 for the season.

Impact Miller tweaked the knee during the second inning but remained in the game and got through five frames while allowing three runs. The righty said it's something he can manage for the rest of the season, so it doesn't appear at this point that he's in danger of missing any time. Impact Miller wasn't great last Saturday in St. Louis in his return to the majors, but he was a little better Friday. His nine strikeouts were his most since his season debut, and this was also his second quality start in nine outings. Miller is now at a 7.49 ERA, 1.74 WHIP and 37:19 K:BB through 39.2 innings. The right-hander is tentatively projected for a home start versus the Orioles next week and will likely stay in the rotation until one of Yoshinobu Yamamoto (triceps) or Tyler Glasnow (elbow) is ready to return. Yamamoto, who is on the 60-day injured list, is expected to begin a rehab assignment next week, while Glasnow has yet to resume throwing after landing on the IL on Aug. 16, so Miller certainly has a chance to get a longer look in the majors.

Even with a relatively favorable matchup on tap against the Rays at home, Miller's recent form makes it difficult to stream him with much confidence.

Impact Miller hasn't necessarily been pitching well at Triple-A, logging a 5.54 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and as many walks (11) as strikeouts in 13 innings over his last three starts. The Dodgers are searching for answers at the back of the rotation, so if he pitches well, he'll stick up, but some more shaky outings could lead to Miller heading back to Triple-A.
