Impact McKinney has spent three very brief stints on the active roster this season, appearing in just two games. He's still just 26 years old and owns a respectable 91 wRC+ in 124 career big-league games, so there's a chance he gets claimed off waivers.

Optioned to taxi squad McKinney was optioned to the Blue Jays' taxi squad Saturday.

Impact McKinney has been shuffled between the major-league roster and the alternate squad to begin the season, and he'll serve on the taxi squad after Chase Anderson (oblique) was activated ahead of his scheduled start Saturday. The outfielder will be available to step in on short notice during the team's current road trip.

Impact The 25-year-old earned a spot on the Opening Day roster but didn't see the field during the first two games. McKinney figures to rejoin the big-league club at some point this season, but he's likely to remain limited to a reserve role.

Gurriel exited Friday's intrasquad action with left side discomfort, but he's been participating in live batting practice throughout the week. Should he be forced to miss any regular season action, Billy McKinney or Derek Fisher could see opportunities in left field.
