Favored for Opening Day bullpen
Manager Dave Roberts said Wednesday that Casparius has a solid chance to open the season with the Dodgers as a multi-inning reliever, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Casparius debuted in the majors last season, allowing two earned runs while striking out 12 batters over 8.1 innings in three regular-season appearances. The Dodgers simply have too much talent in their rotation for Casparius to win a starting job, but he appears to have put himself on the inside track for a long relief spot this spring. It's worth noting, however, that Los Angeles is dealing with a plethora of injuries in its bullpen, so the 26-year-old righty may be pushed back into the minors once the other relievers begin returning.

Casparius will serve as the Dodgers' opening pitcher Tuesday in Game 4 of the World Series against the Yankees, J.P. Hoornstra of DodgersNation.com reports.
Impact
It will be the first appearance during the World Series for Casparius, who had three scoreless outings versus the Mets in the NLCS. The Dodgers have not revealed who else will pitch Tuesday, but Brent Honeywell is a candidate for multiple innings.

Joins NLDS roster
The Dodgers added Casparius to their NLDS roster Tuesday in place of Michael Grove, who got injured in his last outing, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
Impact
Casparius made just three appearances in the big leagues for the season, making his last outing Sept. 27. Over the three games, he allowed two earned runs on nine hits with 12 strikeouts and four walks across 8.1 innings. He was able to go 4.1 innings in his final outing and now he finds himself in place of Michael Grove, who was often used as a multi-inning reliever.

Optioned to Triple-A
The Dodgers optioned Casparius to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday.
Impact
Casparius performed well during his bulk-relief outing Friday, giving up one run and striking out seven batters over 4.1 innings. However, the Dodgers will send him back to the minors in an effort to stack their bullpen with as many fresh arms as possible. Justin Wrobleski will be the choice to take Casparius' place on the active roster.

Fans seven in bulk relief outing
Casparius (2-0) picked up the win Friday, giving up two runs (one earned) on six hits and two walks over 4.1 relief innings in an 11-4 victory over the Rockies. He struck out seven...
Impact
Making only his third career big-league appearance, the 25-year-old right-hander took the mound at Coors Field after opener Ryan Brasier worked the first inning. Casparius wasn't daunted by the environment, tossing 55 of 85 pitches for strikes and setting a new career high in strikeouts. While he's unlikely to play a big role in the postseason for the Dodgers, Casparius may have put himself in the team's pitching plans for 2025. Between Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City this year, the 2021 fifth-round pick posted a 3.35 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 106:46 K:BB through 88.2 innings before providing Los Angeles with a 2.16 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 12:4 K:BB in 8.1 September frames.

Back in Los Angeles
The Dodgers recalled Casparius from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday.
Impact
Just two days after being optioned to the minors, Casparius will return to the Dodgers' bullpen to make up for the loss of Brusdar Graterol (shoulder), who landed on the 15-day IL on Thursday. The 25-year-old Casparius has been solid during his brief time in the majors, allowing just one earned run over four innings, and he figures to work in middle relief during the final four games of the regular season.

Recalled from OKC
The Dodgers recalled Casparius from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, Kirsten Watson of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports.
Impact
With the Dodgers planning on using their bullpen arms to get them through Friday's game versus the Rockies, Casparius will come up from Triple-A to add a fresh arm to Los Angeles' pitching staff, replacing Zach Logue. Casparius owns a 3.36 ERA and 1.22 WHIP through 67 innings with Oklahoma City and went unscored upon in one frame during his MLB debut Aug. 31.

Sent back to Triple-A
The Dodgers optioned Casparius to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday.
Impact
Casparius was sent back to Triple-A one day after making his MLB debut in the Dodgers' 8-6 victory over the Diamondbacks. He tossed a scoreless inning of relief and scooped up the win, but he'll likely move back into a starting role as he rejoins Oklahoma City.

Returns to Los Angeles
The Dodgers recalled Casparius from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Impact
With Clayton Kershaw (toe) headed for the injured list, the Dodgers will call upon Casparius to make up for the loss in their pitching staff. The 25-year-old righty has turned in a 3.30 ERA and 1.17 WHIP through 60 innings over 14 appearances (13 starts) at Triple-A and will likely be used out of the bullpen while in Los Angeles, though it's also possible that he makes a spot start in Kershaw's place.

The Dodgers optioned Casparius to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday.
Impact
The return of Blake Treinen (hip) from the IL will send Casparius back to the minor leagues after just three days in the bigs. The 25-year-old righty didn't appear in a game during his stint with the Dodgers, though he could still be a depth option down the stretch after posting a 3.54 ERA and 1.21 WHIP through 56 frames with Oklahoma City.
