Grayson Rodriguez - Impressing early on at Aberdeen Rodriguez is 2-0 with a 1.47 ERA, 0.71 WHIP and a 31:4 K:BB in 18.1 innings through his first four starts at High-A Aberdeen.
Impact After the cancellation of the 2020 minor-league season, Rodriguez has picked up right where he left off in 2019, when he was named the Orioles' Jim Palmer Minor-League Co-Pitcher of the Year along with Michael Baumann. While making the jump from Low-A Delmarva to the High-A level, Rodriguez hasn't been phased by the improved competition. Blessed with a deep repertoire that includes a high-90s four-seamer, curveball, cutter and spinning changeup, the 21-year-old Rodriguez looks like the top pitching prospect in the Baltimore system.

Gunnar Henderson - Finding success early at Low-A Henderson is slashing .339/.417/.661 with five home runs and three stolen bases across 72 plate appearances in his first 15 games with Low-A Delmarva.
Impact Henderson and one of the Orioles' other top middle-infield prospects in Jordan Westburg (1.157 OPS in 15 games) have both hit the ground running at Low-A after the two missed out on a year of development time due to the cancellation of the 2020 minor-league season. An early summer promotion to High-A Frederick should be in the cards for Henderson if he can continue to find success at the dish while keeping his strikeout rate (23.6 percent) in check.

Impact The 22-year-old won the award one week after his Delmarva teammate, Gunnar Henderson, took home the honors. Westburg is slashing .400/.521/.636 with three home runs and four stolen bases over his first 15 games of the season with the affiliate.

Jordy Mercer - Making little impact Mercer is slashing .233/.250/.279 through 44 plate appearances with a 1:12 BB:K.
Impact While the veteran infielder has been making fairly regular appearances off the bench for the Nats, Mercer hasn't been taking advantage of his opportunities and is still looking for his first RBI. He might last on the roster only until the team feels a younger option like Carter Kieboom or Luis Garcia is ready to give the majors another shot.

Alex Avila - On base three times Sunday Avila went 2-for-3 with a walk, two doubles, a run scored and an RBI in Sunday's win over the Orioles.
Impact The veteran catcher has gone just 2-for-21 over his prior seven starts dating back to April 24, as he continues to see little action behind Yan Gomes. On the season, Avila carries a .182/.357/.364 slash line with five of his six hits (four doubles and a triple) going for extra bases.
