INJURIES

Inefficient in loss Ober (7-5) took the loss Sunday against the White Sox, allowing one run on four hits and three walks while striking out six across 4.1 innings.
Impact Ober has now gone eight starts without a win after he gave up an RBI single to Munetaka Murakami to give the White Sox a 1-0 lead that they never looked back on. The righty hurled 84 pitches (50 strikes) to get through only 4.1 innings for his second shortest start during this winning drought. Over this stretch, he's gone 0-2 with a 4.20 ERA and 27:13 K:BB in 40.2 innings. He'll be on the lookout for more run support in his next scheduled start against Cleveland.

Settles for no-decision Saturday Ober didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the White Sox, giving up two runs (one earned) on two hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out five.
Impact The right-hander saw his winless streak extend to seven starts, but Ober was hardly at fault as he tossed 80 pitches (53 strikes) before exiting with the score tied 2-2. Over that stretch, he's gone 0-1 with a 4.46 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 21:10 K:BB in 36.1 innings. He'll look for more offensive support in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road next weekend in a rematch with the White Sox.

Takes no-decision Sunday Ober allowed one run on four hits and three walks while striking out three over five innings in a no-decision versus the Padres on Sunday.
Impact Ober limited the damage to a Fernando Tatis solo home run in the third inning, but the Twins' bullpen wasn't as effective. This was Ober's sixth straight start without a win, though it was arguably his best of the bunch. He's allowed 18 runs (17 earned) over 31.1 innings in that span while adding a 16:8 K:BB. For the year, the right-hander has a 4.49 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 74:29 K:BB across 108.1 innings through 20 starts. His next outing is expected to be at home versus the White Sox.

Lasts 4.1 innings in no-decision Ober did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing two runs on six hits and a walk over 4.1 innings against Atlanta. He struck out four.
Impact Ober threw 62 of 94 pitches for strikes as he was unable to complete five full frames and qualify for the win. Through three starts in August, the soft-tossing right-hander has posted a 5.51 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 8:2 K:BB across 16.1 innings. In total, the 31-year-old owns a 7-4 record with a 4.62 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 71:26 K:BB in 103.1 innings (19 starts) and is tentatively scheduled to pitch Sunday against San Diego.

Done in by long ball in loss Ober (7-4) took the loss against the Orioles on Tuesday, allowing five runs on eight hits and one walk with four strikeouts over six innings.
Impact Ober allowed five runs over the game's first three innings, all of which came via three Orioles home runs. It comes on the heels of back-to-back quality starts by the 27-year-old, who suffered his first loss in six outings since returning from the injured list July 9. He owns a 4.64 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 67:25 K across 99 innings this season and lines up for a difficult home matchup with Atlanta next week.

Posts second straight quality start Ober completed six innings in a no-decision against Kansas City on Thursday, allowing three runs on six hits and no walks with no strikeouts.
Impact Ober allowed two runs in the third inning and another run in his sixth and final frame. He was far from overpowering, getting just six whiffs and finishing without a punchout for the first time this season, but his performance was nonetheless good enough to go in the books as a second consecutive quality start. Ober's 4.45 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 63:24 K:BB across 93 innings this season make him a fringe, at best, roster option in most fantasy leagues, but he's managed to scratch out a 7-3 record for the Twins. He's slated to make his next start at home against Baltimore.

Rebounds with quality start Ober did not factor into the decision Thursday against the Royals, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits and two walks across six innings. He struck out three.
Impact Both of the earned runs allowed by Ober came on a Jac Caglianone homer in the third inning, the first homer that the right-hander has given up in his last three starts. Still, it was a strong outing overall for Ober, as he logged his first quality start in his last seven outings. Overall, Ober is 7-3 with a 4.45 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 63:24 K:BB across 16 starts (87 innings) this season. He's tentatively in line to face the Royals again on the road his next time out.

Inefficient in no-decision Ober took home the no-decision Wednesday against the Guardians, allowing four runs on eights hits and a walk while striking out two batters across four innings.
Impact Ober dealt with a lot of traffic on the base-paths, which manufactured runs in three out of the four runs he gave up. The 31-year-old through 89 pitches, which marks his highest total since before taking a spot on the injured list for an elbow injury. The righty has given up seven runs in 14.1 innings with a 4.40 ERA and 1.40 WHIP since the return. The next start scheduled for Ober is at home against Kansas City next week.

Fans seven in win Ober (7-3) earned the win Friday against the Cubs, allowing two earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out seven batters across 5.1 innings.
Impact Ober put the Twins in an early hole by allowing the first three batters he faced to reach base, capped off by a Michael Busch single that drove in Pete Crow-Armstrong. However, the Twins' offense picked Ober up with a four-run third inning, and he wouldn't get charged with another earned run until the sixth, when Seiya Suzuki doubled off him and later scored on a wild pitch from reliever Tommy Nance. Ober has now given up just three runs while posting a 12:3 K:BB in 10.1 innings since returning from the injured list July 9, giving him some positive momentum heading into his start next week in Cleveland.

Sharp in return Thursday Ober took a no-decision Thursday against the Guardians, allowing one run on three hits and one walk in five innings. He struck out five.
Impact Sidelined since May 30 with a right flexor strain, Ober showed little to no signs of rust in his return to the major-league mound Thursday. The 30-year-old right-hander might have been able to last a bit longer had he been more stretched out -- he was pulled after tossing 74 pitches -- but it was still certainly his best showing since a May 12 shutout against the Marlins. Ober will look to have his workload restrictions loosened coming out of All-Star break, holding a 4.40 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 51:19 K:BB over 71.2 innings.
