Brad Lord - Fades late in no-decision Lord came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 9-4 loss to Atlanta, giving up two runs on six hits and a walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out four.
Impact The right-hander blanked Atlanta for five frames and got handed a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth, but Lord ran into trouble when he came out for the sixth in an eventual four-run frame that swung the game to the visitors. After a rough ending to August, Lord has been much sharper in September, posting a 3.18 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 15:5 K:BB over three starts and 17 innings. He's scheduled to make his final start of 2025 on the road next week in a rematch with Atlanta.

Marcell Ozuna - Drives in three in big win Ozuna went 3-for-5 with a double and three RBI in Wednesday's 9-4 win over the Nationals.
Impact The veteran DH has fallen to eighth in the order in most of Atlanta's recent lineups, but he was able to make an impact from that spot with a two-run single in the sixth inning and an RBI double in the eighth. The RBI were his first since Aug. 26, and Ozuna has gone 28 games without a home run, leaving him stalled at 20 on the season. His bat has been showing signs of life of late, however -- he's batting .360 (9-for-25) over his last seven contests with four doubles.

Hurston Waldrep - Fans eight in fifth win Waldrep (5-1) picked up the win Wednesday, giving up three runs on five hits over five innings in a 9-4 victory over the Nationals. He struck out eight without walking a batter.
Impact After getting tagged for eight runs in 4.2 innings to take his first big-league loss of the year in his last start, Waldrep came out firing Wednesday and blanked Washington for four frames before giving up a three-spot in the bottom of the fifth on four hits, including three doubles, to break a scoreless tie. Atlanta was able to take the lead for good in the top of the sixth to put the rookie right-hander back in the win column, however. Waldrep hasn't been able to complete six innings in any of his last five starts, getting pulled after 83 pitches (52 strikes) in this one, but Wednesday's effort was his first in the majors in which he didn't issue a free pass. He lines up to make one more start in 2025, at home early next week in a rematch with the Nats.
