Suspended three games Perdomo was suspended three games by Major League Baseball for throwing at Manny Machado on Tuesday night, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Impact Perdomo fired an up-and-in pitch to Machado in the bottom of the seventh inning, shortly after serving up a home run to Juan Soto. It was deemed an intentional plunking and Perdomo will not appeal the three-game punishment. Pirates manager Derek Shelton also received a one-game suspension and will serve it during Wednesday's series finale at San Diego. Perdomo is eligible to return Sunday.

Impact Perdomo holds a 3.18 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and a 35:16 K:BB ratio through 22.2 innings with Indianapolis. He has a bit of MLB experience -- 19.2 innings with the Brewers between 2020-21 -- but has not been very successful. Chris Owings was designated for assignment to make room for Perdomo on the active roster.

Impact After being claimed off waivers from the Brewers on July 19, Perdomo stayed on the Rays' 40-man roster for about two weeks before being designated for assignment. He'll stay in the Tampa Bay organization as a depth reliever at Triple-A after none of baseball's other 29 teams put in a waiver claim for him.

Impact Perdomo has been rehabbing from a hand injury and began an assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League a week ago. Since he'll get a spot on the Rays' 40-man roster, Perdomo should have the opportunity to make his first MLB appearance of 2022 at some point over the next two months.

Impact Perdomo has resided on Triple-A Nashville's injured list since April 12, when he was shut down after sustaining a "boxer's fracture" of his left hand, per Adam McCalvy of MLB.com. After making 22 appearances out of the big-league bullpen between the 2020 and 2021 seasons, Perdomo will have to enjoy a period of sustained success once active at Nashville before he gets another call-up to Milwaukee. Before rejoining Nashville, he'll likely make several appearances in the lower rungs of the minors.

Impact Perdomo finished the 2021 season on the Brewers' 60-day injured list due to a back strain, but he's received a clean bill of health ahead of the 2022 campaign.
