Impact Chivilli has put his shoulder issue behind him, but he will remain at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre where he began a rehab assignment Wednesday. The 23-year-old made two relief appearances for the Yankees earlier this season, allowing one run with a 3:3 K:BB over 2.1 innings.

Impact Right shoulder discomfort has kept Chivilli out of action since late April, but after beginning a throwing program in late May, he's already been cleared to begin pitching in minor-league games. He'll presumably make multiple appearances with the RailRiders before returning to the Yankees' bullpen.

Resumes throwing Chivilli (shoulder) has resumed throwing off a mound and is slated to throw live batting practice during the coming week, per MLB.com.

Impact Chivilli logged action in only two games with the big-league club before landing on the injured list April 25 due to right shoulder discomfort. He was shut down from throwing for several weeks but has since been able to resume tossing from a mound. Given the length of his absence, Chivilli will likely need a minor-league rehab assignment before he's activated, though it's not clear when that rehab stint will begin.

Impact Chivilli has managed just a 6.18 ERA and 71:33 K:BB over 90.1 innings covering two major-league seasons. However, the 23-year-old ranked in the 88th percentile in fastball velocity, the 84th percentile in groundball rate and had whiff rates exceeding 40 percent with both his changeup and slider. There could be some untapped potential for Chivilli as he gets out of Colorado and into the Yankees' pitching development.
