INJURIES
Heads to bench Thursday
Stevenson is not in Thursday's lineup against the Mets.
Impact
He is in the midst of an eight-game hitting streak and is hitting .375 with zero home runs and one steal in 24 at-bats over that stretch. Michael Taylor gets the start in left field and will hit seventh.

Leading off in fourth straight
Stevenson will start in left field and will lead off Wednesday against the Phillies.
Impact
Not only has Stevenson emerged as an everyday option in the corner outfield since Adam Eaton (finger) landed on the injured list last week, but the former has also emerged as the Nationals' primary table setter. Stevenson sits atop the lineup for the fourth game in a row, and he'll be looking to extend his hitting streak to eight games. He went 8-for-20 with three doubles, two walks, seven RBI, four runs and a stolen base over the previous seven contests.

Collects two RBI
Stevenson went 1-for-2 with two RBI and a walk in a 7-3 loss to the Marlins on Saturday.
Impact
Stevenson will step into a sizable opportunity with Adam Eaton (finger) on the shelf for the rest of the season. However, hitting towards the bottom of the order on a team that ranks in the bottom third of the league in runs scored likely won't generate a ton of fantasy appeal.

Optioned off roster
Stevenson was optioned to the Nationals' alternate training site Tuesday, Byron Kerr of MASNSports.com reports.
Impact
Stevenson made the Nationals' Opening Day roster due to Juan Soto's positive COVID-19 test, but he never had much of a role, going hitless in five at-bats. With Soto back from the injured list, Stevenson is no longer needed on the active roster.

Eyeing Aug. 4 return
Soto was cleared by MLB Wednesday but due to local health standards, he won't be able to make his season debut until Aug. 4 against the Mets, at the earliest, Mark Zuckerman of MAS...
Impact
Washington D.C. requires anyone who was exposed to COVID-19 to quarantine for 14 days, so he won't be able to play in either of these next two games against the Blue Jays. This weekend's series against the Marlins has been postponed, so that leaves next week's series against the Mets as his first opportunity to get back in the lineup. Michael Taylor and Andrew Stevenson will continue to get starts in his place in the meantime.

Not yet back in lineup
Soto (illness) is not starting Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays despite clearing COVID-19 protocols.
Impact
Soto is yet to be activated from the injured list and hasn't yet received clearance from Washington, D.C. government officials to rejoin the team, but his arrival appears imminent. Whether or not he'll be cleared in time to fill a bench role in this contest remains to be seen, but his season debut should come soon, barring any unanticipated snags. He reportedly remained asymptomatic despite testing positive for the virus, so he's presumably been able to stay in game shape or close to it. Andrew Stevenson starts in left field Wednesday.

Sitting in third straight
Stevenson is out of the lineup Monday against the Blue Jays.
Impact
Though Stevenson received the first chance to start in left field in place of Juan Soto (COVID-19) in the season opener last week, the 26-year-old has since moved back to the bench. Michael Taylor will draw a third consecutive start Monday and looks in line to serve as the club's top left fielder over Stevenson until Soto returns from the injured list.
