Stays in organization Claudio cleared waivers Monday and accepted an outright assignment to Triple-A Nashville, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Impact Claudio has more than six years of MLB service time and had the option of electing free agency, but he evidently felt that sticking around in the Milwaukee organization represented his best past toward a return to the big leagues. The veteran southpaw made just one relief appearance for the big club in late April before returning to the minors and then getting removed from the 40-man roster one month later.
MAY 29, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Designated for assignment Claudio was designated for assignment by the Brewers on Saturday.
Impact The veteran southpaw was the 40-man roster casualty with the Brewers bringing up Andruw Monasterio to replace Willy Adames (concussion) in the infield. Claudio has spent nearly all of the season to date with Triple-A Nashville, pitching to a 5.27 ERA, although the underlying numbers are better. He figures to remain with Nashville if he passes through waivers unclaimed.

Optioned to Triple-A Claudio was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Impact Claudio was called up Monday and appeared in the Brewers' loss to the Tigers that night, allowing two hits while recording one out in the contest. He will now head back to Nashville as Tyson Miller replaces him in Milwaukee's bullpen.
APRIL 26, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Back in majors The Brewers selected Claudio's contract from Triple-A Nashville on Monday.
Impact It's a return to the majors and to the Brewers for Claudio, who posted a 4.11 ERA over 103 relief appearances for the Brew Crew from 2019-20. He had held a 3.00 ERA across his first seven outings with Nashville.
APRIL 24, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Hits open market Claudio elected free agency Sunday.
Impact Claudio will head to the open market after he cleared waivers three days earlier. The 30-year-old lefty, who made three relief appearances for the Mets in 2022, will likely have to settle for a minor-league deal this winter.
OCTOBER 12, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Designated for assignment Claudio was designated for assignment by the Mets on Friday.
Impact Claudio was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse on Sept. 19 and has now lost his spot on New York's 40-man roster. The 30-year-old lefty made only three appearances for the Mets this year and didn't allow a run over 3.1 frames.
SEPTEMBER 30, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Demoted to Triple-A The Mets optioned Claudio to Triple-A Syracuse on Monday.
Impact Claudio and Stephen Nogosek lose their roster spots as Max Scherzer (oblique) and Tylor Megill (shoulder) return from the injured list. Claudio has made three scoreless appearances this month and could rejoin the Mets at some point for low-leverage or lefty-on-lefty work.
SEPTEMBER 19, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Cut loose Claudio was released by the Red Sox on Monday, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.
Impact Claudio inked a minor-league deal with Boston on Aug. 10, but he failed to reach the big leagues before being released. He appeared in 41 contests earlier this season with the Angels, struggling to a 5.51 ERA and 1.59 WHIP with a 30:15 K:BB across 32.2 frames.
SEPTEMBER 20, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Signs minor-league deal with Boston Claudio was added to the roster at Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday after signing a minor-league deal with the Red Sox, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.
Impact Claudio was DFA'd and later released by the Angels in late July after struggling to a 5.51 ERA and 1.59 WHIP across 32.2 innings. He'll now provide relief depth for Boston at Triple-A, and if he's able to impress, the southpaw could become an option to join the Red Sox bullpen down the stretch.
AUGUST 11, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Parts with Halos The Angels released Claudio on Friday.
Impact Claudio went unclaimed off waivers after being designated for assignment last weekend, and since he apparently wasn't interested in reporting to the Angels' Triple-A affiliate, the organization elected to cut ties with him. Prior to being dropped from the 40-man roster, Claudio made 41 relief appearances and posted a 5.51 ERA and 1.59 WHIP across 32.2 innings.
JULY 31, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
DFA'd by Halos Claudio was designated for assignment by the Angels on Sunday.
Impact Claudio was supposed to bolster the Los Angeles bullpen after signing during the offseason, but he never found much consistency and posted a 5.51 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and 30:15 K:BB over 32.2 innings. Sunday's starter Jaime Barria was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake in a corresponding move.

Can't find control in loss Claudio (1-2) took the loss against San Francisco on Wednesday, pitching a third of an inning and allowing four runs (three earned) on three walks.
Impact The Angels and Giants began the 13th inning tied 2-2, and Claudio got the ball with the inherited runner on second base. He induced a groundout to start the frame and subsequently walked Buster Posey intentionally, and he couldn't locate his pitches thereafter, walking the next two batters to force in a run. Claudio was consequently pulled from the contest and had to watch as all three of the runners he left on base came around to score. All told, only three of his 12 pitches went for strikes as he tied a season high with three walks.
JUNE 24, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Secures first save Claudio got the save Friday against the Diamondbacks, recording a strikeout in the 10th inning of a 6-5 win.
Impact Manager Joe Maddon chose Claudio to pitch to Stephen Vogt with two outs and two on in a one-run game in the 10th and the lefty got Vogt swinging to record the save. The high-leverage appearance was necessitated by Claudio being the sixth Angel reliever of the game and he probably isn't in the closer conversation with a 4.56 ERA and only two holds.
JUNE 12, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Suffers loss Tuesday Claudio (0-1) took the loss Tuesday against Cleveland while allowing one run on one hit and striking out a batter in an inning of work.
Impact Claudio came in to pitch the eighth inning and got two quick outs on five pitches before serving up a solo home run to Josh Naylor. The long ball would end up being the deciding factor in the game which warranted the left-hander his first loss of 2021. Claudio now owns a 4.60 ERA and 17:2 K:BB over 15.2 innings this season.

Good to go Claudio has recovered from his hip infection and is a full-go for game action, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Impact Claudio got a late start to spring training due to the hip issue, but he's now ready to go and is likely to appear in a Cactus League contest in the coming days. The left-hander is expected to fill a middle-relief role, with some potential for setup duties, with the Angels this season.

Reports to camp Claudio (hip) arrived at spring training Wednesday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Impact Claudio missed the first week of spring training due to a right hip infection, but he was cleared to join the team Wednesday. Barring any setbacks, the southpaw should have plenty of time to prepare for Opening Day.

Dealing with hip infection Claudio's arrival at spring training will be delayed due to a right hip infection, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.
Impact Claudio will be unable to compete at the start of spring training due to his hip issue. Manager Joe Maddon said the reliever should miss 1-to-2 weeks, although he said Claudio could also be sidelined longer. Once he's fully healthy, the southpaw should mainly work in low-leverage situations for his new club.
FEBRUARY 17, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Finishes Friday's contest Claudio threw a clean ninth inning in Milwaukee's 7-1 victory over Cleveland on Friday.
Impact The Brewers were well ahead on the scoreboard heading into the final frames Friday, so the team's regular late-game relievers got the night off and Claudio got the chance to seal the deal. Claudio has finished six games this season and even has a save, but he generally works in middle relief.
SEPTEMBER 5, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Converts rare save chance Claudio allowed one run (none earned) but did not allow a hit or a walk while striking out one to earn the save Saturday against the Cubs.
Impact Claudio got the save chance as Josh Hader was likely unavailable after tossing 1.1 innings and throwing 35 pitches Friday night. Claudio came into pitch in the 10th inning, and did not allow a hit or walk, but the runner starting on second base did score to cut the lead to one. It was Claudio's first save of the season, and he isn't likely to see many more with Hader accounting for the vast majority of save chances for the club.
AUGUST 16, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Makes second appearance Claudio recorded two outs out of the bullpen and allowed one earned run in Monday's extra-inning victory over the Pirates.
Impact Claudio was not sharp Monday and allowed a one-run deficit to turn into a four-run margin, but he did limit the damage enough to allow the Brewers to come back and win Monday's contest. Claudio led all relievers in appearances last season with 83, and he is being used similarly thus far, being summoned from the bullpen in two of the Brewers' first four games.
