Roster spot safe Bohm will make the Phillies' Opening Day roster, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Impact Bohm's roster spot appeared to be in some doubt thanks to his poor spring and the strong performance of the Phillies' top hitting prospect Bryson Stott. While Bohm's roster spot is secure for now, his playing time may not be, with Stott making the team as well. If the pair wind up platooning at third base, the right-handed Bohm would see less than half of the available starts, though it's likely Bohm still gets to start against some righties. He can spell Rhys Hoskins at first base on occasion, while Stott can start at either middle infield spot.

Not guaranteed roster spot Bohm isn't guaranteed a starting role or even a roster spot to begin the year, as the Phillies are considering Bryson Stott at third base, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Impact Bohm entered the spring as the presumptive favorite at third base despite a disappointing sophomore season which saw his wRC+ drop from 138 to 75, with corresponding steps back in his strikeout rate (20.0 percent to 26.6 percent) and barrel rate (10.3 percent to 6.6 percent). He's continued to struggle this spring, hitting .208/.296/.375 through his first 10 games, which has prompted the Phillies to give more looks at the hot corner to Stott, the team's top hitting prospect. Stott's primary position is shortstop, where he also has a chance to beat out Didi Gregorius, but he can likely handle the hot corner as well. If the Phillies do elect to go with Stott as the Opening Day third baseman, Bohm may head to the minors for everyday at-bats rather than remaining stuck in a bench role.

Back in big leagues Bohm was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday.

Impact Bohm had a strong rookie season but was demoted in late August after hitting a disappointing .245/.302/.342 with seven homers in 111 games. He's been fine but nothing special in 14 Triple-A games since then, hitting .268/.354/.411, but the Phillies evidently decided he's worthy of a roster spot over the final week of the season. He'll be on the bench Tuesday against Atlanta, with Freddy Galvis starting at third base, so Bohm may not have a significant role in the final six games of the year. Luke Williams was optioned to clear a roster spot.

Impact Bohm hasn't appeared in any games at Triple-A Lehigh Valley since Aug. 29 due to a sore wrist. Although he's been able to participate in on-field work during pregame drills, he hasn't made as much progress in his recovery as the team had hoped. A better idea of the 25-year-old's status will likely be revealed following his visit with a doctor.

Impact Bohm was demoted in late August in an effort to get him back on track following a very disappointing sophomore season at the big-league level. He looked good through six Triple-A games, hitting .318 with more walks (five) than strikeouts (four), but his quest to sort out his swing has now been on hold for several days. He's at least been able to work out on the field prior to games, so his absence may not last much longer, but it remains unclear when he'll play again in the minors, let alone for the Phillies.

Impact Bohm had already ceded the starting third base job to Ronald Torreyes, and now the return of Rhys Hoskins (groin) will block him from getting playing time at first base as well. It remains to be seen whether Bohm will get another shot with the big-league club in 2021, a year in which he's slashed .245/.302/.342 with seven home runs and 47 RBI.
