Short game leads to T5 finish Finau finished in a share of fifth place at The Genesis Invitational after shooting a four-under 68 in the final round.

Impact Finau was unable to keep pace with his playing partner Ludvig Aberg, but he did manage to birdie his final two holes to notch a top-five finish. Finau gained over 5.7 strokes around the greens this week, which was the most in the field. He was also a very solid 12th in SG: Approach. Those two areas have become the most consistent parts of Finau's game. He has gained in 14 of 15 on approach and 13 of 16 around the green. Finau will not be in the field for the Mexico Open.

Strong putter leads to T13 Finau posted a three-under 69 in the final round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am to finish in a share of 13th place.

Impact A third-round 73 ended any hopes of Finau contending for the title, but he had a solid Sunday with five birdies for the top-15 finish. Despite losing shots with his ball-striking for the tournament, he made up for it by ranking sixth in SG: Putting. It's Finau's second top-15 of the year, but he's also missed the cut in both events he's played with full fields.

Misses cut in San Diego Finau carded a two-day total of five-over at the Farmers Insurance Open to miss the cut by four strokes.

Impact Finau was unable to stay out of trouble, carding six bogeys and a pair of double bogeys across 36 holes to badly miss the cut. Surprisingly, he struggled on the easier Torrey Pines North Course with a five-over 77. Finau has now missed back-to-back cuts after finishing T15 at The Sentry to open the year. He'll look to bounce back at next week's AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, where he has a best finish of T23 across three appearances.

Impact Finau was just trying to knock the rust off this week after missing all of the fall portion of the schedule with a knee injury. All things considered it was a solid showing for Finau who ranked seventh in SG: Putting and second in scrambling. He has now finished outside the top-25 just once in his last 11 starts. Finau is not in the field for the Sony Open in Hawaii.
