Bay Hill highlights busiest week of golf this year and LIV returns in Hong Kong

Bumped to alternate for API Finau has been bumped to the second alternate at next week's Arnold Palmer Invitational, Rob Bolton of PGATour.com reports.

Impact Finau was in the projected field coming into the week, but did not play the Cognizant Classic and got bounced to the alternate list. He will need two players in the 72-man field to withdraw to play Bay Hill. If not Finau will probably just look to get his game in good shape for THE PLAYERS Championship.

Third in SG: ARG at The Genesis Finau closed with a two-under 69 on Sunday at The Genesis Invitational to finish six-under and tied for 28th.

Impact Finau hit just three of 14 fairways in regulation during Sunday's final round at Riviera, but he managed to average 1.55 putts per GIR en route to five birdies. He ultimately finished the Signature Event ranked third among the field in SG: Around-the-Green, though Finau lost 3.43 strokes with his ball striking. Nonetheless, he's now placed T28 or better in three of four starts dating back to a T11 at the Farmers Insurance Open.

Finishes 18th at Pebble Beach Finau surged with a six-under 66 in the final round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am to finish in solo 18th place.

Impact Finau led the field in SG: Putting this week at 8.25 strokes gained over the field average. That was much needed after he was 76th out of 80 players in the field in SG: Off-the-Tee. Finau shot 14-under in rounds one and four, but just two-under-par in rounds two and three. Nevertheless, 18th is a pretty solid result at a Signature Event considering he missed the cut in three of his first four starts this season. Finau was a sponsors exemption into the field at Pebble Beach and was given the final sponsors exemption again for next week's Genesis Invitational at Riviera. Finau has a pair of runner-up finishes in 2018 and 2021 in LA.

Continues good record at Torrey Finau fired a six-under 66 on Sunday to surge into a tie for 11th place at the Farmers Insurance Open.

Impact Finau's best round of the week included an eagle and five birdies to just one bogey. It moved him up 19 positions on the leaderboard from where he started the day, nearly getting him into the top 10. It has certainly been a long fall from grace for Finau who did not have a top-30 finish in his last 10 starts coming into the week. If anywhere was going to get him back on track it was going to be at Torrey Pines where he owns six top-10s and ten top-25s over the years. Finau will be in the field for the WM Phoenix Open next week.
