Misses the cut at Riviera Burns missed the cut by one stroke at The Genesis Invitational after posting a one-over cumulative score.

Impact Burns looked like he was going to make it to the weekend after a one-under 70 first round and an eagle on the par-5 first hole to open the second. However, he proceeded to go four-over across his final 17 holes, including back-to-back bogeys on holes 15 and 16. Burns has missed the cut in two of his last three PGA Tour outings, with a T6 finish at last week's AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am sandwiched in between. Burns will take a week off before participating in the Arnold Palmer Invitational, where he's made the cut in six of eight outings (including T48 in 2025 and T9 in 2022).

Rolls to T6 finish at Pebble Burns finished in a share of sixth place following his five-under 67 in the final round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Impact Burns briefly took the outright lead on Sunday following his birdie at the par-4 13th. He had to be excited considering he still had two par-5s to play in the final five holes, but he would end up playing that stretch in one-over to post 19-under-par in the clubhouse. That number would end up falling three shots shy of forcing a playoff. Burns had another great putting week at fifth in SG: Putting. He was also pretty solid on approach, which is usually his biggest weakness. Burns needed this type of finish after a T27-MC start to 2026. Now he has to feel better heading to The Genesis Invitational next week where he has a pair of top-10s in his last four starts.

MC in Phoenix Burns carded a two-day total of five-over par at the WM Phoenix Open to miss the cut by six strokes.

Impact Burns was unable to get much going at TPC Scottsdale with back-to-back over-par rounds to badly the miss cut. He only recorded six birdies across 36 holes to go along with seven bogeys and a pair of double bogeys. The short game was the main area of concern, as he lost 5.4 strokes around the green and putting combined. It's Burns' first missed cut since the Valero Texas Open last April.

Solid start in the dessert Burns carded a one-under par 71 in the final round of the American Express to finish tied for 27th.

Impact Burns started his 2026 PGA Tour season with a solid showing at the American Express. He opened with three straight rounds in 60s carding a 65-67-68 to get to sixteen-under par heading into Sunday. After birding two of his first five holes on Sunday, he made a couple bogeys late in his round which prevented him from capturing a top-20 in his first tournament of the year. While Burns didn't rank in the top-15 in any SG category this week, Burns was able to gain strokes in both SG: Off the Tee and SG: Approach, two categories that Burns has historically struggled with. If Burns can maintain consistency in those two areas this year, with as good of a putter as he is, Burns could be in for great year.
