Returning from neck injury
Theegala (neck) is listed in the field for The Open Championship this week.

Theegala missed out on a pair of majors earlier this season due to a neck injury, but he's expected to return this week at Royal Portrush for his fourth career Open Championship appearance. He most recently missed the cut at the Memorial Tournament in late May.

Missing U.S. Open
Theegala (neck) has withdrawn from the U.S. Open, Rob Bolton of PGATour.com reports.
Impact
Theegala had been struggling with a neck issue of late and doctors told him he needed to put the clubs down for a bit. That said, it's hard for any player to have to pull out of a major, but for his long-term health, Theegala probably made the right decision. At this point, it's probably best for Theegala to continue to rest and see if he can come back for the Open Championship July 17-20.

Battling neck injury
Theegala's (neck) status for the U.S. Open next week is to be determined after he had to withdraw from an event for the third time in five weeks on Tuesday, Paul Hodowanic of PGATo...
Impact
Theegala has been advised by doctors to put the clubs away for "a little while" as he continues to get treatment. He tried to give it a go at the Memorial Tournament last week, but he did not play well and ended up missing the cut. It's probably going to come down to the wire as to whether or not Theegala tees it up in the first round of the U.S. Open at Oakmont next Thursday. That nasty rough out there is certainly not something that would be kind to a player battling a neck injury.

Withdraws from RBC Canadian Open
Theegala (undisclosed) is out for the RBC Canadian Open, according to Rob Bolton of PGATour.com.
Impact
Though it is unknown why Theegala withdrew from the RBC Canadian Open, there is a chance he re-aggravated a neck injury that caused him to withdraw from the PGA Championship. This past week, he missed the cut at the Memorial Tournament by just two shots.

MC in return from neck injury
Theegala recorded a 36-hole score of seven-over-par to miss the cut at the Memorial Tournament this past week by two shots.
Impact
Theegala, who withdrew prior to the PGA Championship due to a neck injury, posted disappointing rounds of 74-77 at a difficult Muirfield Village setup in his return to tournament action. He lost a collective 4.3 strokes on and around the greens in Ohio, converting only four of 12 total scrambling opportunities. Theegala ranks just 119th in the FedExCup standings ahead of the upcoming RBC Canadian Open.

Set to return from neck injury
Theegala (neck) is listed in the field for the Memorial Tournament this week.
Impact
Theegala was forced to withdraw prior to the PGA Championship due to a neck injury, but he's hopeful to return this week at Muirfield Village where he tied for fifth in 2022 when he finished third among the field in SG: Tee-to-Green. However, Theegala currently sits just 117th in the FedExCup standings with two top-25s in 14 starts this season, and he ranks outside the top-130 in both SG: Off-the-Tee and SG: Approach.

WD's from PGA Championship
Theegala has withdrawn from the PGA Championship with a neck injury, Rob Bolton of PGATour.com reports.
Impact
Theegala's neck injury from the Truist Championship last week has carried over and he won't be able to tee it up at the second major of the year. Alex Smalley will take his place in the field at Quail Hollow. Hopefully Theegala can return sooner rather than later from this neck issue.
