Pulls out with illness
Fox has withdrawn from THE PLAYERS Championship due to an illness, PGA TOUR Communications reports.
Impact
Fox had a solid start to the year going having finished top 25 in all four of his PGA Tour starts in 2026, so this is a tough break that he won't be able to go in the most lucrative tournament of the year. He will be replaced by David Ford who was the first alternate. Fox will hope to be back to the course soon.

Third in scrambling at Bay Hill
Fox closed with a one-under 71 on Sunday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational to finish two-under and tied for 24th.
Impact
Fox opened his week at Bay Hill with a first-round 68 that included a streak of four consecutive birdies, but he ultimately finished the Signature Event ranked outside of the top-30 in both SG: Approach and GIR percentage. However, he converted 24 of 30 scrambling opportunities to salvage his fourth straight top-25 result dating back to the WM Phoenix Open. Fox will be in the field again this week at THE PLAYERS Championship where he placed T20-MC-T27 over the past three years.

First top-10 of 2026
Fox fired a four-under 67 during the final round of The Genesis Invitational to finish in a five-way tie for seventh.
Impact
Fox's eagle on the par-5 first hole was mitigated by back-to-back bogeys on the seventh and eighth holes, but he was able to end the round nicely with a three-under back nine. He ranked in the top-10 in the field in SG: Around-the-Green, SG: Putting, driving distance and birdies made, though the 39-year-old Kiwi struggled off the tee, finishing T37 and T46 in SG: Off-the-Tee and driving accuracy, respectively. It was Fox's first top-10 finish at a PGA Tour event in 2026 after opening the year with back-to-back T24s at the WM Phoenix Open and AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He won't participate in the Cognizant Classic next week but will be in the field for the Arnold Palmer Invitational that tees off March 5. He finished T14 at his lone appearance at the API in 2023.

Jumps to T24 at WM Open
Fox carded a three-under 68 in the final round of the WM Phoenix Open to finish in a four-way tie for 24th.
Impact
Fox's final round started poorly with three bogeys over the first five holes, but he turned things around with six birdies over the final 13 holes, including three straight from 10 to 12. He struggled with his accuracy off the tee, though he did finish T10 in birdies made and seventh in driving distance. It was the 39-year-old's first Tour event of the season and his best finish since the Travelers Championship in June (T17). Fox is in the field for next week's AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am for the first time in his career.

T19 finish in U.S. Open
Fox closed with an impressive one-under 69 on Sunday to finish tied for 19th in the U.S. Open.
Impact
Fox went into the final round of the U.S. Open on Sunday eight-over par for the tournament after shooting 72-73-72 in the first three rounds. However Fox turned his play around as be began his final round. He made three birdies and no bogeys in his first eight holes, and while we made bogeys on the difficult ninth and tenth, he bounced back with a good birdie on 11 before bogeying 17. It was a much better round for Fox as he improved his SG: Approach statistics by almost four strokes, and gained strokes in both SG: Putting and SG: Off the Tee.
