Runner-up at Oakmont MacIntyre closed with a final round two-under 68 at the U.S. Open, finishing two shots behind champion J.J. Spaun. Impact MacIntyre began the round a distant seven shots off the lead and got off to a poor start with two bogeys in the first three holes. However, he bounced back with an eagle on the par-5 third hole and slowly worked his way up the leaderboard by playing the final 12 holes bogey-free with three birdies to eventually tie the lead. Nonetheless, Spaun birdied the final two holes to win by two. MacIntyre gained shots in every strokes gained category for the week, notably finishing in the top-10 in SG: Off-the-tee and putting. It's MacIntyre's fourth top-10 of the year.
