Flirts with first PGA Tour win Hoey finished in second place at the Bank of Utah Championship following his four-under 67 in the final round. Impact Hoey put together a great performance this week that included an eight-under 63 on Saturday, but he was still four shots behind Michael Brennan at the end of 72 holes. Hoey has been one of the best ball-strikers on Tour over the last couple years and it was another vintage performance as he ranked ninth in SG: Off-the-Tee and second in SG: Approach at Black Desert Resort. Hoey made two eagles and 25 birdies for the week, but also had seven bogeys and a pair of doubles. The margins are very fine when it comes to winning on the PGA Tour, but Hoey is certainly a player that is trending towards a victory out here. He moves up to 61st in the FedExCup Fall standings and is one spot out from earning an exemption into the first two signature events in 2026.
