Places 55th at The Sentry Dunlap closed with a two-under 71 on Sunday at The Sentry to finish seven-under and alone in 55th place.

Impact Dunlap struggled in his first start since being named the 2024 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year, losing 4.7 strokes ball striking and another five strokes with his putter at Kapalua this past week. He also finished the event ranked dead last among the field in driving accuracy, and Dunlap recorded just 15 birdies across 72 holes. His next tournament appearance will come this week at Waialae Country Club, making his Sony Open in Hawaii debut.

Earns Rookie of the Year honors Dunlap was named the 2024 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year, the PGA Tour announced Thursday.

Impact Going into 2024 Dunlap would have never thought in his wildest dreams that he would earn PGA Tour Rookie of the Year honors. He was going into his sophomore season at Alabama looking to help the Tide compete in the SEC. Everything changed when he got a sponsors invite to play in The American Express in January after winning the U.S. Amateur the year prior. Dunlap put on a clinic in Palm Springs, which even included shooting a 60 in round three to propel him to being the first amateur to win on the PGA Tour since Phil Mickelson in 1991. Dunlap was faced with the tough decision on whether or not to turn pro and be eligible for all Signature Events the rest of the season, or finish out his collegiate career. Dunlap made the choice to turn pro immediately. It was not easy for him after that as he felt the full grind of what being a PGA Tour pro is all about. That said, he showed his talent by collecting a trio of top-12 finishes at the Houston Open, the Memorial and the Rocket Mortgage, before going an getting Win No. 2 on the PGA Tour at the Barracuda Championship, which was played opposite the Open Championship. That helped Dunlap make the FedExCup Playoffs and reach the BMW Championship, meaning he will be exempt for all 2025 Signature Events. Dunlap's upside is sky high and the soon to be 21-year-old is definitely a player to watch going into next season.

Impact Dunlap made it into the playoffs as a 20-year-old with two victories, but needed a strong showing in Memphis to make it into the top-50 and play the BMW Championship. Dunlap found himself in the final group on Sunday and tried to just chip away at Hideki Matsuyama. Dunlap got within one shot after a birdie at the par-5 16th, but he will be upset with a short iron shot from the middle of the fairway at 17 that led to bogey. He was able to refocus and make par on 18 to secure his spot at the BMW and earn a spot in all the Signature Events in 2025. Dunlap still has a lot of things in his game to refine, but does this guy have some special ability. He's going to be a factor out here for years to come.

He was quite a ways back on Sunday at the Barracuda's Modified Stableford format, but made seven birdies and a key eagle at the par-5 15th to notch his second PGA Tour victory. Dunlap had to wait it out, but his 49 points for the tournament were good enough to get the job done. Dunlap is now inside the FedExCup Playoff cutline with the 300 points he got for winning this week. He did not get to use the 500 points he got for winning the AmEx because he was a non-member at the time. Dunlap will look to keep things rolling at the 3M Open next week.
