Teeing it up at TPC Louisiana
Schmid (undisclosed) is listed in the field for this week's Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
Impact
Schmid withdrew prior to the Valero Texas Open after posting a solo-74th place finish in Houston, but he'll return to tournament competition this week at TPC Louisiana alongside playing partner Seamus Power.

Pulls out of Valero Texas Open
Schmid has withdrawn from this week's Valero Texas Open, Rob Bolton of PGATour.com reports.
Impact
Schmid was coming off a 74th place finish in Houston. No reason was given for the withdraw, but this will be Schmid's first off week of the season. This means he will likely not play again until the Zurich Classic April 23-26 because he is not qualified for The Masters or the RBC Heritage.

T5 at Puerto Rico Open
Schmid posted a 12-under cumulative score at the Puerto Rico Open to finish tied with Paul Peterson and Luke Clanton for fifth.
Impact
Schmid posted a 71-66-68-71 scorecard in Puerto Rico while ranking second in the field in driving distance, third in scrambling opportunities and T4 in GIR. The 28-year-old German has finished in the top-10 in back-to-back PGA Tour events (T9 at the Cognizant Classic), which is a much-needed turnaround after finishing 49th or worse in each of his first six Tour outings of the season (including three missed cuts). He'll look to carry that momentum into THE PLAYERS Championship next week, where he finished T26 in 2024 before missing the cut in 2025.

First top-10 of 2026
Schmid posted a 10-under cumulative score at the Cognizant Classic to finish in a four-way tie for ninth.
Impact
Schmid entered the week having finished 49th or worse in each of his previous six Tour outings (including three missed cuts), but the 28-year-old German was far better at PGA National. He was able to climb up the leaderboard thanks to his strong play over the weekend (seven-under over the final two days of the tournament). He kept his mistakes to a minimum (T6 in bogeys made) while ranking T8 in the field in GIR and in the top-25 in SG: Approach-to-Green and SG: Off-the-Tee. Schmid is in the field for the Puerto Rico Open next week, where he finished T10 and T6 in 2024 and 2025, respectively.

Approach struggles continue
Schmid finished 48th at The Genesis Invitational with a two-over cumulative score.
Impact
Schmid opened the final round with four birdies over the first five holes before carding a double bogey on the par-3 sixth, but his one-under 70 score was his best of the tournament. He did fine off the tee, ranking 12th and T13 in SG: Off-the-Tee and driving accuracy, respectively, but his struggles with the irons continued, as he lost 8.9 strokes in his approach game (51st in the field) while finishing T48 in GIR. Schmid ranks 166th in SG: Approach-to-Green this season, which is seventh-worst on the PGA Tour this season. He'll look for better results next week at the Cognizant Classic, where he finished T18 in 2025 after missing the cut in each of the two years prior.

Loses 6.7 strokes on approach
Schmid fired a four-under 68 on Sunday at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am to finish one-over and tied for 73rd.
Impact
Schmid racked up eight final-round birdies at Pebble Beach to ultimately break par for the first time all week, sinking 105 feet of putts in the process Sunday. However, he posted the second-worst SG: Approach performance of his career throughout the Signature Event, losing 6.7 strokes with his irons. Schmid has now lost strokes from tee to green in each of his first five starts to begin the 2026 campaign, dropping from 88th to 99th in the OWGR since the turn of the calendar year. Nonetheless, he qualified for The Genesis Invitational at Riviera this week.

Unable to convert 36-hole lead
Schmid posted a six-under 66 on Sunday at the World Wide Technology Championship to finish 24-under and tied for sixth place.
Impact
After firing rounds of 64-63, Schmid led by one stroke through 36 holes but was bypassed following a one-under 71 on Saturday. He was able to bounce back with eight birdies (to go along with two bogeys) in the final round to hang onto a top-10 finish. The third-year PGA Tour pro has posted a top-15 result in two of his last three starts.

Last man into playoffs
Schmid recorded a one-over 71 on Sunday at the Wyndham Championship to finish tied for 31st place.
Impact
Schmid began the day in the top-15 but got off to a poor start with four front-nine bogeys to go along with just one birdie. Sitting on the bubble for the playoffs, he birdied the final three holes to climb up to 70th to qualify for next week's first playoff event and secure his PGA Tour card for next season. It's the first time in three seasons on Tour that Schmid will play in the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

Places 69th at The Open
Schmid closed with a one-under 70 on Sunday at The Open Championship to finish eight-over and alone in 69th place.
Impact
Schmid ranked top-5 among the field in both driving distance and GIR percentage during the final round at Royal Portrush, but he also lost 2.17 strokes with the flat stick Sunday. Nonetheless, he finished 13th among his peers in SG: Off-the-Tee for the week, and Schmid rose one spot to No. 67 in the FedExCup standings with the made cut. He'll make another tournament appearance this week at the 3M Open where he placed T12-T20 the past two years.

Captures top-20 finish in Scotland
Schmid carded a one-over par 71 in the final round of the Genesis Scottish Open to finish in a tie for 17th.
Impact
Schmid came to Scotland off of his fifth top-10 finish of the year at the BMW International Open. Therefore, it was no surprise when Schmid came out firing with a five-under par 65 in the first round and a two-under par 68 in the second round. Schmid relied on a hot putter in his first two rounds, gaining over five shots against the field in SG: Putting. However, the putter cooled off on the weekend and he wasn't able to score as well as he did in the first two days. While Schmid wasn't able to follow one top-10 with another, it's still another solid performance to add to his impressive season.

Will not play in Barracuda
Schmid is out of the field for the Barracuda Championship, per Rob Bolton of PGATour.com.
Impact
Schmid was previously slated to appear in the event but will understandably play in the upcoming Open Championship instead. The 27-year-old German has been active this season, playing in 20 PGA Tour events while recording nine made cuts and four top-10 finishes, including his notable second-place finish at the Charles Schwab Challenge.
