Top-10 at Charles Schwab Challenge Hughes posted a nine-under cumulative score at the Charles Schwab Challenge to finish tied with Steven Fisk and Ryan Gerard for 10th.

Impact Hughes opened the tournament with a four-under 66 before following that up with a three-under 67 score Friday. The 35-year-old Canadian gained only two strokes over the final two days of the tournament, but he did enough to capture his first top-10 finish of the season. Hughes finished T52 or worse in each of his seven outings (including three missed cuts) prior to teeing off at Colonial Country Club. His game around and on the green propelled him to his best finish of 2025, finishing fourth and sixth in SG: Around-the-Green and Putting, respectively. He also ranked seventh in scrambling and 16th in driving distance, though he was near the bottom of the pack in both GIR and SG: Approach. Hughes isn't in the field for the Memorial Tournament next week but will be back in action on home soil at the RBC Canadian Open in two weeks time.

Impact Hughes gained more than 2.50 strokes around the green for a third consecutive outing, but he ranked just 69th of 70 among the field in SG: Ballstriking at TPC Craig Ranch en route to only 15 total par-breakers across 72 holes. He's now placed outside of the top-50 in seven straight starts dating back to a missed cut at THE PLAYERS Championship, descending to 135th in the FedExCup standings. Missed cut at TCHO Hughes did not make the cut at the Texas Children's Houston Open after posting a one-under cumulative score.

Impact Hughes needed a birdie on the par-3 ninth hole to make it to the weekend, but his 18-foot birdie but missed the cup by less than a foot. The 35-year-old Canadian has missed the cut in two of his last three tournaments and has finished in the top-30 in just two of eight Tour events this season. Hughes will tee off at the Valero Texas Open, where he missed the cut in both 2017 and 2018 before finishing T42 in 2019, which was his last appearance at TPC San Antonio.

Impact While Hughes didn't light up the scorecard this week in any round, he was one of the most consistent players, breaking par in his first three rounds. He began his week with a solid three-under par 68, carding three birdies and one bogey in his opening round. He then followed this round with two rounds of two-under 69 to get him to seven-under par for the tournament heading into Sunday. An even par 71 in the final round wasn't want Hughes was hoping for to finish his week, but he was at least able to capture a top-30 while not having his best stuff this week. This week Hughes lost strokes against the field both in SG: Off the Tee and in SG: Approach, ranking outside the top-50 in both categories. If he can improve on these areas, with his short game seeming to be in a good spot, look for Hughes to find his name closer to the top of the leaderboard.
