Impact Aberg built himself a commanding lead after a spectacular performance Friday, when he went seven-under on the front nine (including two eagles) and finished with a nine-under 63 score. His momentum slowed down slightly with a one-under 71 score Saturday, but he entered the final round with a three-shot cushion. Aberg failed to build his lead Sunday after going even on the front nine, and his hopes of winning his third PGA Tour tournament were dashed after his tee shot on the par-4 12th hole found the water, resulting in a double bogey. Aberg couldn't make up for his costly mistake over the final six holes, and for the third week in a row, the leader at the start of Championship Sunday did not come away with the win. Aberg has back-to-back top-5 finishes, but how he ended things at TPC Sawgrass was far different than last week's Arnold Palmer Invitational, when he finished T3. He's not listed in the field for next week's Valspar Championship.
