Solid final round in St. Jude defense Rose fired a six-under 64 in the final round of the FedEx St. Jude Championship to finish tied with Rory McIlroy and Nick Taylor for 39th.

Impact Rose entered the week as the defending champion, having beaten J.J. Spaun on the third playoff hole of last year's event. Rose had issues with TPC Southwind this time around, carding rounds of 73 both Thursday and Saturday, though he finished on a high note with the best score of the final round. He ranked T8 in GIR, T19 in birdies and 25th in SG: Approach, though he also finished 65th in SG: Around, losing 3.26 strokes in that category. He's 24th in the FedExCup Standings heading into next week's BMW Championship, where he finished T30 last year and won back in 2011.

Solid second round not enough Rose missed the cut at The Open Championship by two strokes following a two-under 68 in the second round.

Impact Rose's hopes of qualifying for the weekend were pretty much snuffed out by a five-over 75 opening round, which included four birdies in a five-hole stretch and a double bogey on the par-4 11th. He put together a respectable performance in the second round, but it was not nearly enough for him to make the cut at Royal Birkdale. Most of Rose's struggles came in the short game, as he lost 3.12 strokes around the green while ranking 110th in SG: Off-the-Tee. The Englishman has missed the cut five times out of 15 tournaments this season and will have at least one week off, as he's not listed in the field for next week's 3M Open.

T25 at TPC River Highlands Rose carded an even-par 70 on Sunday at the Travelers Championship to finish 12-under and tied for 25th.

Impact Rose hit 14 of 18 greens in regulation during his final round at TPC River Highlands, but he made just 45 feet of putts while losing 1.91 strokes with the flat stick Sunday. Nonetheless, he still finished the Signature Event ranked top-20 among the 72-man field in SG: Putting, which guided him to 19 total birdies. The Englishman remains top-20 in the FedExCup standings, but he won't be in attendance for the upcoming John Deere Classic.

Impact Rose shot his only sub-70 round of the week on Sunday which was highlighted by three straight birdies on the back-nine. The 2013 U.S. Open champion gained strokes across the board this week, but the iron play is where he shined the most. Rose was top 15 in both SG: Approach and GIR's at Shinnecock. The soon to be 46-year-old is still showing he can get it done in the biggest events. He has now finished T11 or better in each of the three majors this season and was also T13 at THE PLAYERS Championship. Rose will certainly be one to watch at Royal Birkdale for the Open Championship next month. First things first, however, he will tee it up a the Travelers Championship.
