Barely qualifies for The Open
Niemann posted a three-over cumulative score at LIV Golf Andalucia to finish tied with Lucas Herbert and Martin Kaymer for 24th.
Impact
Niemann had a lot to play for in Andalucia, as the top-3 players on the LIV Golf individual season standings following the tournament would qualify for The Open Championship. It looked like the Torque GC captain wasn't going to qualify after going four-over across the first two rounds, but he recovered to go one-under over the last two days. More importantly for Niemann, he got help from Thomas Detry, the latter of whom dropped to a share of fifth after his three-over 74 score in the final round. Niemann will look to regain the form he had in his victory in Korea as he prepares for the U.S. Open Championship in two weeks, where he missed the cut in 2025 at Oakmont Country Club. It'll be his first appearance at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club.

Ousts Gooch in playoff win in Korea
Niemann posted a 12-under cumulative score at LIV Golf Korea and won the tournament after beating Talor Gooch on the first playoff hole.
Impact
Niemann and Gooch entered Sunday tied at the top of the leaderboard after both went nine-under through the first three rounds. Niemann took charge early by carding four birdies over the first eight holes but went one-over across the last 10, allowing Gooch to catch up after the latter carded a birdie on the par-3 16th. Niemann propelled himself to the win on the first playoff hole after his approach shot landed within four feet of the hole, leading to a short birdie putt to outlast Gooch in Korea. It was the eighth LIV Golf victory of Niemann's career but his first of the 2026 season. The win has the Torque GC captain third on the LIV Golf individual season standings with 334.86 points behind Jon Rahm (815.58) and Bryson DeChambeau (626.90). LIV Golf Andalucia is next week, where Niemann finished T6 in 2024 and T23 last year.

Inconsistent final round at Aronimink
Niemann registered a one-over 71 in the final round of the PGA Championship to finished tied for 18th.
Impact
Niemann made his move Saturday with a four-under 66 score and opened the final round with back-to-back birdies. However, he proceeded to go two-over across the final 16 holes, and his bogey at the par-3 17th was particularly brutal, as it knocked Niemann out of the top-15 of the leaderboard, thus not earning him an automatic exemption to the 2027 PGA Championship. He led the field at Aronimink in GIR and finished second in SG: Off-the-Tee, T9 in driving accuracy and 10th in SG: Approach, though he was ultimately sunk by his performance on and around the green, finishing 68th and 69th in SG: Putting and Around-the-Green, respectively. Niemann hasn't been as dominant in LIV Golf this season as he was in both 2024 and 2025, finishing as the season-long runner-up behind Jon Rahm in both years. Luckily for Niemann, his play in 2025 was enough for him to earn a spot at this year's U.S. Open Championship. He'll use LIV Golf Korea and LIV Golf Andalucia as his tune-up events before teeing off at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club on June 18.

Share of 12th in South Africa
Niemann posted a 17-under cumulative score at LIV Golf South Africa to finish tied for 12th.
Impact
Niemann's best round of the day was Friday with a six-under 65, and he entered Sunday at 14-under par and in position for a strong finish. His final round was a roller coaster, ending with a three-under 68 score that included eight birdies and five bogeys. The Torque GC captain ranked second in the field in driving distance, fifth in putts per hole and T6 in birdies made, though he finished near the bottom in both driving accuracy and scrambling. Niemann has won seven LIV Golf tournaments in his career (including five in 2025), but he hasn't come close to an eighth victory this year apart from his solo fourth in Singapore last week. He was invited to participate in The Masters last year, but he is not currently listed in the field. If he doesn't play at Augusta National, then the next time Niemann will tee off will be at LIV Golf Mexico that starts April 16.

Crumbles after rain delay
Niemann posted an 11-under cumulative score at LIV Golf Singapore to finish solo fourth.
Impact
Niemann came into Sentosa Golf Club as the defending champion, having won by six strokes over Brooks Koepka last year. It looked like Niemann was going to be the first player in LIV Golf history to successfully defend their tournament title, as he entered the final round tied with Lee Westwood at the top of the leaderboard. Niemann surged ahead to four-under through the first seven holes, but the mid-round rain delay negatively impacted the Torque GC captain, who proceeded to card three bogeys following the resumption of play. A disappointing way to lose your title defense, and it was the first time that Niemann lost a LIV Golf tournament after holding a lead with seven holes to play. Still, on paper, it was an encouraging bounce-back performance for the 27-year-old Chilean after his T41 finish in Hong Kong last week. Niemann will tee off at LIV Golf South Africa next week.
