Withdraws from Myrtle Beach Knapp has withdrawn from the Myrtle Beach Classic without an injury deignation, per Rob Bolton of PGATour.com.

Impact Knapp will withdraw from the Myrtle Beach Classic following his finish at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson this past week. The 30-year-old American also recently came off a third-place finish at the Zurich Classic with Frankie Capan III.

Settles for third at Zurich Classic Knapp and Frankie Capan III finished in solo third place at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans following a two-under 70 in the final round.

Impact It was interesting to see how this duo would work this week after Knapp was in the mix of a pretty decent season, while Capan had really struggled in his rookie campaign. This format seemed to neutralize everything and both players were able to really feed off each other. The duo came to the par-3 17th tied for the lead, but Capan hit a poor tee shot and left them in the water and scrambling for bogey. Capan redeemed himself with a nice bogey putt, but they were unable to take advantage of the par-5 18th to throw anything at the leaders of Andrew Novak and Ben Griffin, who made birdie at 17. Knapp still has to be happy with the way he played and he now moves up to 40th in the FedExCup standings. He will tee it up at the Byron Nelson next week as well.

Unable to go wire-to-wire Knapp faded to a share of sixth place after shooting a one-over 72 in the final round of the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches.

Impact Knapp made headlines this week when he shot a 12-under 59 in the first round to take an advantage right out of the gate. Knapp was able to keep it going and lead after each of the next two rounds as well. He looked unflappable throughout the whole week, but everything changed on the 11th hole on Sunday when he came up short with his approach and had to play two shots out of the water. Ultimately it was a triple-bogey and Knapp lost all control of the tournament. It's a good lesson for the second-year Tour player going forward. Knapp has to be happy with the way he has played over the last few events after really struggling after his breakthrough win in Mexico last year. Knapp will look to collect himself and get right back at it next week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
