Shares low amateur honors Koivun closed with a two-under 68 in the final round of the U.S. Open to finish in a tie for 23rd place and share low amateur honors with Ryder Cowan.

Impact Koivun's final round was by far his best of the week which included three straight birdies on the front-nine and a closing birdie at the par-4 18th. He gained strokes across the board at Shinnecock, showing how well-rounded his game is as he enters a new stage in his career. Koivun will turn professional at the upcoming John Deere Classic and have full status via PGA TOUR University Accelerated for the remainder of 2026 and the full 2027 season. Koivun has had one of the most decorated collegiate careers in golf history, winning the Haskins Award, Jack Nicklaus Award and Ben Hogan Award twice in his three seasons, including as a freshman. He most recently helped Auburn to a NCAA Division I Championship, the school's second in three years. Koivun has all the traits of a future PGA Tour superstar.
