T3 in GIR at Mexico Open van Rooyen closed with a three-over 74 on Sunday at the Mexico Open at VidantaWorld to finish five-under and tied for 59th.

Impact van Rooyen broke 70 in each of his first three rounds at Vidanta Vallarta this past week, but he lost 4.1 strokes putting and he hit only seven of 13 fairways in regulation Sunday to drop 30 spots down the leaderboard. Nonetheless, van Rooyen finished the event ranked T3 among the field in GIR percentage while gaining 2.15 strokes on his approaches. He'll tee it up again this week at the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches where he tied for runner-up honors last year.
